Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William made their way down south to the US on Friday evening.
They received a warm welcome as their plane landed at LAX Airport – where they were greeted by a procession before making a start on their busy schedule.
Catherine wore a dove grey dress by London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic.
The Spring 2011 ‘Peridot’ dress with pleats from drape neckline to waistband has been modified from the runway.
Catherine’s dress is pleated on the skirt compared to the puffy peplum on the runway.
This is the commercial version, so it wasn’t created especially for her.
She wore nude pumps again, but these aren’t the same pumps as on this occasion she opted for Jimmy Choo ‘Lovely’ pumps.
A L.K Bennett Natalie clutch completed her look.

I’d been waiting her to wear Roksanda for the longest time! I’m so glad she finally did because I love the way she wears it!
She looks beautiful.
+1 amen
so much nicer on catherine, on the runway it looks an absolute mess.
Very pretty. Love the colour.
i like this dress, too! It’s really nice from the back as well. (zipper, peplum). She is rocking this look!
The bag, the shoes – I think she could be a bit more creative.
Agree–the dress is very interesting in close up and from the back. Too bad she didn’t wear her hair back or up so we could see the interesting neckline
Hopefully she’ll wear it again before the summer is past. I think this dress is one of my favorites so far. Good point on the hair!
Even though, its a grey dress and nude pumps, its really refreshing and new on her.
Love it.
Really like the dress, and actually prefer the modified version on Kate. The nude pumps however don’t work with it at all.
this is a very pretty dress.
Nice and pretty
Love the dress and it definitely looks better on Kate.
I think she looks fabulous. Hopefully her style will influence others.
This is easily her best look yet. Very royal.
This is a lovely dress but it does not suit her figure because it makes her shoulders to wide and her hips are too slim to balance the silhouette. The shoes are just plain wrong
The dress is really cute, the commercial version is really better. Please, someone tell her to throw away that ugly clutch.
I love this dress:) I actually have it!

Wish she kept the peplum though!
Love your site Fashion Critic:) Been following it for ages! Keep up the great work:)
Thanks Stylus Muse, the dress looks really cute on you x
Hey there Fashion Critic.
My sister has purchased this very same dress that Catherine is wearing and it is actually a modified version of Look 6 from Roksanda Ilincic’s Spring 2011 runway show. Claudia Schiffer has worn the actual runway version and Catherine’s dress is the same, but in a softer wool crepe fabric and a different colour.

Oooh, I would love to own this dress.
Was she wearing pantyhose? I think she did – here and on a few other occasions on tour. Why not ditch them? I don’t know about etiquette in this regard, but I personally find them old-school and unnecessary. Do people take you more seriously when you put them on?
