Back in April, French actress Melanie Thierry attended a private dinner in Paris to celebrate the opening of ‘The Art of the Automobile: Masterpieces of the Ralph Lauren Collection.’
She opted to wear a Ralph Lauren Spring 2011 cream crochet dress which has a high neckline, plus crochet and lace panels handcrafted in linen and cashmere.
Melanie paired the summery dress with nude YSL ‘Tribute’ heels and a brown leather Ralph Lauren bag. She styled her hair in a casual bun and wore pink lipgloss.
Sienna Miller wore the same dress to attend Ralph Lauren’s Wimbledon party last month.
The actress paired the dress with patent leather black boots and a black bag with an extra long strap. She wore her hair in a disheveled ponytail and added some bright pink lipstick to her look.
My vote is going to Melanie on this one as I think she played up the romantic vibe of the dress perfectly with her neutral-coloured accessories and pretty makeup.
The black shoes and bag feel too harsh for this kind of look on Sienna, plus her hairdo is definitely the wrong style for such a delicate dress.

I think they both opted for the wrong shoes. I feel like this dress requires something lighter as strappy sandals for instance… But because Melanie’s is at least neutral, she wins.

I agree with you. They both chose wrong shoes, I would say that Sienna wore it worse.

I agree with gabis. I didn’t vote because for me, there are a few problems with this dress: the sleeves and the length. Neither translate well to off-runway wear, at least as it’s shown, though Sienna is better suited in terms of coloring to this look.
Melanie wore it better no doubt although the dress doesn’t look good on either of them.
Melanie’s shoes definitely look like The Dude’s jelly shoes from the Big Lebowski, but at least they are neutral and not those heavy black ones.
