Anne Hathaway looked like she stepped out of a Disney movie, looking very much an enchanted princess at “The White Fairy Tale Love Ball” which was held at Chateau de Wideville in Crespieres, France lat night.
Without the white wig she could almost be reprising her ‘White Queen’ character in “Alice In Wonderland.”
Anne was joined by her BFF Valentino Garavani on the red carpet wearing a very famous gown from his Spring 2006 Couture collection.
If you’ve seen “Valentino The Last Emperor” you’ll know what I’m talking about.
The gorgeous white gown with a pleated bodice has silver sequin details on the cap sleeves and on the ruffles which cascade down her skirt.
With her hair in loose tousled waves she added a wreath-like head-piece to enhance the ethereal look she was clearly going for.
Bright red lips completed the look.
Perfectly themed or too costumey?

Perfectly themed but the makeup is garish for the ethereal theme, no? dark liner and red lips??
Yep. I love it except for the eyeliner.
I love this look. I love it when fashion gets a bit costumey, and this look has a very good balance.
I also love the red lips, but I agree with Vidhya – The eyeliner is very harsh for such a delicate look.
Maybe a little too perfectly themed–the garland in her hair is a tad too girlish in my opinion. Anne can look so chic!
Way too costumey! Hate the skirt!
Anne’s looks darker than the runway version, maybe it’s just the lighting. I just watched The Last Emperor again last night, I love that documentary!!
I could see a bride wearing this exact look, but with the make-up toned down 2-3 notches.
This look is a mess, don’t like it at all.
I like everything but the makeup, and don’t like anything about the makeup…
Too costumey! I’m not feeling the dress on its own either.
Meh
It’s perfect!
I think she looks beautiful.
+1
Perfectly themed for me and actually worth a BDOTW nomination…just cause it brought a smile
Absolutely! This event is begging for theme dressing so why not go for it?
totally
Agree 100%.
I agree with you, after all the theme required something like this. I saw the movie… and loved it! This dress is a dream.
Her hair is still atrocious. I cannot get over those highlights.
from far away its perfect! close up the makup looks a tad pale, probably the look they going for but just a little too white perhaps? but overall i think she looks beautiful and love it for the theme
Adore, adore adore! This is Anne Hathaway at her very best. I love that people are going into the valentino archives, sicne there are so many beautifully stunning unworn perfect red carpet gowns, which i find so much mroe beautiful than anythng put out by ‘valentino’ in recent years. I also am not surprised to hear that they are friends, since he was the designer for the ‘runway show’ in devil wears prada.
Nothing wrong with the dress, but I don’t like the hair and the makeup is terrible.
she looks like she stepped out of a classic disney movie, she really is absolutely beautiful.
To this would be a perfect, flawless look if she had gone easier on the makeup. And it’s not just the eyeliner and dark eyes, her face looks too white, with too much powder and an excessive build up.
Other than that, I love the dress, hair and lips!
the dress is lovely but the makeup is very unflattering.
I just finished watching Valentino: The Last Emperor. Great film, very happy that you mentioned it. What an iconic life Valentino has led!
When I first saw the dress (before watching the film) I was not particularly impressed, sweet dress, nothing terribly special. But after I saw the film, the process and inspiration behind the dress changed everything. But what really changed my mind was seeing it in motion. Beautiful. Many of his dresses are like that, still photos just don’t do them justice.
I know I’m the minority here but I have always thought Anne is overrated. Rarely am I amazed with her looks except for this. I think she looks fabulous. What a great dress.
I don’t like the hair and the eye makeup.
I’m not a fan of the hair here but the gown looks lovely on her
I imagien you saw the white dress with flower appliques she wore while in paris this week, with the tangerine red shoes? It’s Valentino, right? Would actually have been my BDOTW!
Love the gown and the accessories.. But I feel that the make-up is too harsh for the look..
