Yesterday I attended the Georges Hobeika Fall 2011 collection.
With a steadily growing celebrity fan base, I was very excited to view what we should expect to see on the red carpet in the coming months.
The designer was inspired by the timeless feminine grace of Greek goddess Antheia.
She was the goddess of flowers and flowery wreaths worn at festivals and parties. This translated onto the runway via beautiful blossoms and the free flowing silhouettes.
Mushroom pleats and romantic lace accented layers of fine organza, crepe and georgette on a refreshing colour palette of moon grey, lilac and shades of bubblegum pinks.
Subtle embellishments dazzled on the runway, ruched backs accented the derrière, whilst satin ribbons provided the perfect finishing touch to many looks.
I bet Eva Longoria has ready picked out several looks.
One look I would be interested to see how it translates onto the red carpet was a long sleeved white crepe dress which had a sexy lace back with a satin bow accent.
Favourites: Pink sleeveless gown with swirling detail and fine embellishments and the pink one-shoulder vase gown
Shoes Georges Hobeika embellished pointy pumps
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Eva Longoria, Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman, Olivia Wilde, Gisele Bundchen, Hilary Swank, Fan Bing Bing, Katy Perry, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Cate Blanchett, Lea Michele, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel and Selena Gomez

The finale gown was breath-taking. The mermaid ivory gown had a white overlay which fell from a beautiful embellished wreath at the waist.

that lace back dress oh my god! that is like pure heaven.
i really hope someone with class, grace and elegance will wear it and do it justice. i am praying that cate blanchett will wear a look from the collection.
oh will you be doing a post on the dior collection. would to hear what your thoughts on that collection were.
I wasn’t invited to Dior. I only review the shows I was invited to.
ahh damn
I’ll review it for you. It was a complete dogs dinner . My first thought was please bring back John. Simply awful .
“Bring back John, All is forgiven” was my first reaction too.
I agree, someone with class. The dress is gorgeous. It is my favorite of the collection.
The latest Dior collection, looked more like Katy Perry’s tour wardrobe . I agree, bring back John. They forgave don Imus and he got back on air.
though the collection is dreamy & romantic, somehow i am hankering for colour and warmth.
I love every single look from this collection. STUNNING!
I can imagine Cate Blanchett wearing some of those
Lovely gosh whew!
is the laced back one(4th dress)
The only dress I don’t want
I just can’t see my self leaving my home with that.
Thx FC xxxx
It was my pleasure
The third look from the first picture is something Tilda Swinton would look really good in. And I´m afraid that the dress with a lace back will get fully lined before a red carpet outing… But I wish someone like Diane Kruger would wear it…
Ooh, Diane Kruger would be perfect for the back lace dress! Good call. Fingers crossed!
The whole collection is beyond beautiful!
You lucky devil. What a beautiful, fantasy-inspired/inspiring collection. The detailing is amazing – I saw a pleat inside a pleat!
I would like to see Kate Middleton wearing this collection but know that she can’t.
I agree she would look amazing in the tenth look! Elegant and youthful.
I’d like to see Leightoon Meester in the second look but I imagine Olivia Palermo might get there first.
What a beautiful, beautiful collection!
I love every piece haha! Thanks for sharing this with us.
you’re welcome
wow.. love it.. thanks FC
Woah! I am in love with EVERY piece!
I can see Uma wearing some of it too.
One of the most beautiful collections I’ve seen in a while… Thanks for sharing FC!
no worries…I very much enjoyed it
Oh my goodness, this is just breathtaking! I cannot even imagine these in real life, the second of the first three photos you showed is incredible! I so hope to see it being done justice on a red carpet soon! Also, I knwo this is because of that incredible rodarte look she wore about a million years ago, but the second to last photo, the long sleeved lace knee length dress, I can picture being perfection on Kate Bosworth!
You are so lucky for goign to this show! IT is really a vision of perfection, and thankyou so much for sharing it with us! I hope the rest of teh week proves to be as beautiful, at least dior is over.
Anyone else think some of these pieces look like rip-offs of Elie Saab Spring ’11 Couture? The color palette and embellishing look very similar.
I agree. I was taking a second look at this collection and it looks like the designer was inspired by Elie Saab. Such a disappointment.
I’m rather shocked over your picks of who you see wearing this collection… Katy Perry? Eva Longoria? Kristen Bell? Selena?
I would have gone with a much more mysterious and ‘new face/on the rise’ cast like Tilda, Cate, Jessica Chastain (opposed to Jessica Beil), Jennifer Lawrence, Lucy Punch, Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Diane Kruger, Liv Tyler, Florence Welch, Fan Bing Bing, Rooney Mara, Daphne Guinness and Jennifer Connely. They seem more suitable for this particular collection that exudes the ethereal, raw, romantic, and slightly gothic edge.
Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Selena are all fans of the brand and have worn gowns by the designer on several occasions so it would not be a surprise to see them opt for the designer again.
I already had Fan Bing Bing (fan of the designer) and Cate on the list.
I personally don’t see Tilda Swinton, Jessica Chastain wearing this collection, but that is the beauty of fashion. It’ in the eye of the beholder. There is no right or wrong, just varying opinions.
We could put a group of people in the same room and you would never get the same list of people.
But that is half the fun of fashion.
I love the draping and details and the dove gray color just floats in a lovely way through my brain……yum!
I think Helen Mirren would look gorgeous in look 10.
This collection is gorgeous! This designer is among one of my favorites!
And the finale gown reminds me of Sonam Kapoor’s JPG gown she wore to Cannes this year.
