Monaco Royal Wedding Guests

Naomi Campbell wore a one shoulder Alexander McQueen ombre floral embroidered dress to the Royal Wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene of Monaco at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco.

She accessorized with an matching fringed shawl, an Alexander McQueen skull clutch and a peach coloured fascinator.

I was starting to tire of seeing fascinators as we’ve had an overload of them since the British royal wedding, but I love how this one complements the floral embroidered and the bottom half of her McQueen gown.

Charlotte Casiraghi: I’ve often wondered what the huge fuss is when it comes to Charlotte Casiraghi, but she did look divine at the royal wedding wearing a Chanel Spring 2011 Couture pink satin dress with YSL sandals and a black veil. It’s not often we see re-runs at a royal wedding, but Diane Kruger wore this dress the second it came off the runway back in January.

Princess Stephanie of Monaco: I’m not a fan of this look as there isn’t anything regal or noteworthy about it.

Princess Caroline of Hanover: This is more like it. I love the lightly embellished details on this ensemble and the hat is the perfect complement. Pink appeared to be the colour most favoured by the guests on this occasion.

Michelle Yeoh: The Asian actress was quite possibly the worst dressed at this event. Who wears peep-toe ankle boots to a royal wedding? Her chocolate brown Azzedine Alaia dress was paired with a pink cloche hat. The look was hideously over accessorized with those pearls. Save the hat nothing about this look appeals to me.

Karolina Kurkova: The Czech model fared only slightly better in Chanel Fall 2009 Couture navy look with an embellished train.

Clotilde Courau: The Princess of Venice and Piedmont wore a Giambattista Valli coral gazar cocktail dress with a black silk flower hair pin. Black accessories completed her look.

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand: The Princess is often seen in the front rows of Chanel and Christian Dior shows during Paris Couture Fashion Week, but on this occasion she opted for something more traditional. The ivory look with gold embroidered details was one of my favourites at this event as it’s so beautifully rich with heritage yet still very modern.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden: The Princess wore a very pretty draped aqua dress with matching stacked pumps and a matching clutch, but was severely let down by the ‘just got out of the shower’ hair.

Princess Maxima of the Netherlands: I also loved this orange look worn by Princess Maxima. It is such a beautiful warm colour and I love that she was bold enough to wear a large hat even though she has that large rosette detail on her shoulder.

Princess Mette-Marit of Norway: The Princess also opted for a pink Valentino Fall 2011 dress which matched her Louboutin’s and floral hairpiece. She added a contrasting turquoise clutch to complete her look.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden: Did anyone else think of Karen Millen the second they saw Princess Madeleine’s dress?

I’m also not impressed by Charlotte’s style in general… and on this occasion. As lovely as that Chanel dress is, it does nothing for her athletic shoulders and small chest. And a black veil to a wedding? Maybe it’s just me but hmm…

Overall, the outfits go from ok to disastrous

I soo agree! I’m not impressed by Charlotte’s style either, and this Chanel dress doesn’t fit her at all, I think! She has every possibility in the world to wear beautiful outfits and dresses, but it seems to me like she doesn’t have an eye for fashion. In lots of occations she wears clothes and dresses that don’t fit her, nor her body, at all.

Do me a favour if you can look at what she is wearing to the fireworks in the evening- she looks stunning. I am very surprised that people question her style because to me she is a younger version of her mother who has style in spades. The Duchess of Cambridge should dress as well.

Naomi Campbell – I don’t know much about royal weddings dress code but comparing to the others guests she seemed a little inappropriate.

Charlotte Casiraghi – A perfect dress for her. Seems like they love Chanel because her cousin,Pauline Ducruet, also wore a beautiful blue Chanel dress.

Princess Stephanie of Monaco – Nothing special.

Princess Caroline of Hanover – I loove this. Sooo elegant. You can see that she’s Grace Kelly’s daughter.

Michelle Yeoh – I had high expectations from her but she really let me down. Her dinner look was sooo much better.

Karolina Kurkova – Without the train and in other colour,I would have loved it.

Clotilde Courau – Beautiful.I’m glad that she opted for a bold colour.

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand – One of my favourites, too.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden – The dress is beautiful – I thought it was an Elie Saab dress.

Princess Maxima of the Netherlands – Simply stunning.

Princess Mette-Marit of Norway – Classy and event appropriate.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden – If the dress had been made from other material,I would have liked it.

I have tried and tried but I do not like fascinators. They perch on the head like bird’s nests. Ick. Wear a hat. Am kinda meh on all of these looks except Princess Maxima’s. Naomi’s aqua/peach combo strikes me as fussy and not particularly flattering colorwise on her.

Princess Maxima was easily one of the best dressed at the wedding. She looked absolutely stunning! And her smile could light up the whole Monaco….

BTW, I thought the girl in a blue Chanel dress (I guess it was one of Stephanies daughters) looked absolutely lovely too.

i personaly think that Naomi looks sensational, she has a fantastic dress, a fantastic color, nothing too extravagant it’s perfect for the “code”. i don’t know if i’m wrong but i think her dress has no sequences, so i think it’s really elegant and nothing “desperate” for attention, so it’s nice. And she looks amazing.

The collection the dress of Karolina Kurkova is my favorite collection from chanel, ever, i wish we had seen more looks from it.

Naomi Campbell – I really love her outfit!

Charlotte Casiraghi – I’m sorry but she has to find somthing that flatters her chest….

Princess Caroline of Hanover – The outfit’s better than her sister’s but the hat… no no no! It looked like she couldn’t see anything during the ceremony (and even the camera couldn’t catch her eyes.

Karolina Kurkova – Too much going on!

Clotilde Courau – She looked good!

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand – I don’t know how she survived this day ( it was like 35°C!) with that outfit! ;)

    The others princesses looked great!.

Overall the looks were pretty boring. I thought Princess Stephanie, being his sister would of made more of an effort. Thailand and Neverland Princesses were my favourites.

I liked Mette Marit, Princess Maxima, Charlotte and Princess Sirivannavari. I also liked Princess Mary of Denmark and Princess Mathilde of Belgium.

I’m glad those fancy guests changed into something more glamorous for the reception :)

Might be a teeny bit biased as I live in the Netherlands but I think Princess Maxima looks amazing, love that colour!
Princess Sirivannavari was a close second for me.

It’s not that I’m sick of fascinators but how they’re worn. The fatigue is that they often look like an afterthought. Hey, I’ll stick something on my head and be “dressed.” They shouldn’t be just plopped on top of your head with your hair worn hanging down. Casual hair and a fancy hat do not go together. If you’re going to wear a fascinator, your hair has to be done to match. The fascinator should nestle into the hair, not perch on top all lonely and looking like it’s going to tumble off any second. Yes, Naomi, I’m looking at you with your beautiful dress and hat but bedraggled hair.

You should feature the crown princess of Denmark, Mary, as she looked stunning and she generally has a great sense of style worthy of a crown princess. Oh yeah, and she gave birth to twins recently and looks amazing.

I kind of think she has lost her mojo recently. She´s not even half as stylish as she used to be. Must be the twins….

At the ending of the 3rd paragraph (“the bottom half of her Givenchy gown.”) about Naomi, you didn’t change the Givenchy to McQueen.

Agree! It did look much better on Diane! It doesn’t fit Charlotte at all, in my opinion. She could have done so much better! But she constantly fail to impress me…

Clotilde Courau looked great, beautiful dress, lovely hairstyle. Simple black shoes and a little purse were a right choice, considering the bold color of the dress. She was the best dressed, for me. The second place is for Charlotte, she was really beautiful.

I was very disappointed with Charlotte’s look during the wedding, which didn’t flatter her at all, but loved the night dress. Princess Maxima was my favorite. By far the most elegant,

…and can’t believe Kurkova’s look! wearing a fall dress in a summer ceremony outdoors! she seemed ready to go to work in an office or as flight attendant really.

The style of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand’s outfit is a very traditional Thai style which was worn many years ago by women. The fabric, the detailing, the soft and subtle colour, the embroidery and the elegant way she wears it I think are clear indications. I loved that she chose to really represent her country by wearing this and I think she looks beautiful. Although I do agree with you that Michelle Yeoh was the worst dressed at the event, I’m really disappointed that Charlotte Casiraghi wore that Chanel look. I’m sure that she has so much access to many other designers and other Couture looks and she may favor this one, but you can’t outdo Diane Kruger.

Other than aomi’sCarolines is my favourite. Charlotte’s dress is, as I said when diane wore it and did so to perfection, one of my favourite dresses probably ever but at least his year if not, but the creasing and hte posture and the way it accentuates are broadish shoulders are just upsettign me too much to evenvaguely like it. Also, is caroline’s dress not chanel spring2011 couture? The colours adn the drop waist are very reminiscent of that show to me, particularly this look : http://www.style.com/fashionshows/powersearch/slideshow?designer=design_house22&iphoto=167&origIphoto=14

Not a fan of Charlotte in the Chanel couture that Diane Kruger wore so brilliantly earlier this year. The veil was completely unnecessary and the heavy shoe killed a gorgeous dress stone dead.

In my opinion, however, she did look much more impressive at the wedding dinner later that night, wearing a stunning gown from Giambattista Valli’s upcoming couture collection to be presented in Paris this week. It is the best that I have ever seen her look.

I’m typically a fan of Charlotte Casiraghi, for she’s so much more attractive (model-esque) than most princesses in the world. Guess it just takes a commoner to improve the gene pool. But I don’t like her dress or shoes here – meh. I really like Clotilde Courau – didn’t know who she was – but she looked very elegant. I’m ok with Michelle Yeoh’s look except the footwear. Anything above looks adorable and I like a little dark color among this sea of peach, blush, lavendar … [insert any color fitting for a baby shower] at a wedding.
