Today would’ve marked Lady Diana’s 50th birthday.
We will always remember her humanitarian work, style, sophistication, for being a modern royal and for being a mother to the future King of England.
Happy Birthday Lady Diana.

Nice post FC. And great pics too.
thank you x
You are very kind gal FC
god bless you xxxx
you made tears come to my eyes
awww….you are so adorable.
Bless you my dear xxx
Sorry FC, love the website but really don’t like this post. It has no place on your fashion website. Just another needless glorification of one dead person or a million others.
Maggie,
In answer to your second comment. I have been in the hairdressers and various “me time” appointments all morning.
I didn’t want to reply to your message via my blackberry as I thought your comment demanded a proper reply rather then a misspelled reply via blackberry whilst sitting under the dryer.
The reason other posts continued to go up on the site is because I scheduled them to – if that was going to be your 3rd response.
In reply to this message. You are very much entitled to your opinion. It will not affect the way I will continue to edit or produce material for this blog.
As Diane was a true Style Icon I believe it does deserve a place on this site.
I started this blog as an outlet to talk about things I wanted to talk about and that will continue.
As the editor I reserve that right especially as I pay for the pictures, the hosting plus I pay taxes on my earnings.
The minute I start to tailor my posts to suit one just reader then it will be time to close the site, because it will mean I do not mind of my own.
Your “Royalists will be royalists” was really petty, but it proves that your comment was only written in order receive a strong reaction.
I hope you are now suitably satisfied.
Amazing post! i’ll love Lady Diana forever. she looks beautiful. RIP and happy 50th b’day, wherever you are.
beautiful picture! she looks here a lot like her son. so lovely of you to do this post, FC! maybe someday, if you happen to have a little time off your busy schedule, you would like to do post on your favourite Diana’s looks? i’d most certainly love to read it!
Very disappointing and surprising that you would delete my comment because you didn’t agree with it. Royalists will be royalists.
One of a kind and never to be replaced.RIP Lady Di.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOST BELOVED LADY DIANA …… HOPE U R ALIVE…… I THINK NO ONE CAN EVER REPLACE HER ..SHE WILL ALWAYS B IN MY HEART…. EVERYTHING ABOUT HER WAS SO NATURAL SHE WILL TRULY BE REMEBERED FOR HER HUMANITARIAN WORK ,THE CARE FOR THE COMMONERS, FOR HER BEAUTY AND ELEGANCE…..AN IDEAL EXAMPLE OF SAD PRINCESS I WISH WHEREVER SHE IS SHOULD BE IN PEACE…….. LOVE U DIANA
Thanks for the reply, I didn’t realise about the comment scheduling – I understandably thought it had been deleted.
Just to reiterate I never suggested you change your opinion or edit your site so I’m confused at the tone of your reply. My second comment was slightly inflammatory so I apologise, as an Irish person I get vexed quite quickly at the amount of ‘Royal’ coverage these days.
You have a great site and i merely I thought I was free to offer my opinion as well without castigation, as you encourage under all of your posts. It’s unfortunate this wasn’t the case.
You are free to express your opinion, if that wasn’t the case I wouldn’t have published your comment.
Noooo Waaaay!! I cant believe she was born on July 1st!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! haha sorry must seem dumb that im psyched we share the same birthday!
Happy Birthday to you x
lovely post, FC. and lovely pic you chose. as always, tnx for all the great fashion entertainment (and teaching) that you provide. Lady Diana’s public life showed a woman’s evolution fashion and personality-wise.
Flaws aside, I think she is an example of changing in a good way.
Thank you.
I still remember crying on my balcony on the day she died.
The only other celebrity I cried for when they passed was Michael Jackson
I love this post and the picture you have chosen – very thoughtful and touching, thanks F.C.!
thank you
Happy birthday princess Diana, to a true style icon and a beautiful lady. R.I.P
Short but sweet — what a nice post. (And beautiful picture!) I don’t know much about the royals, but William and Harry seem like they’ve grown up to be wonderful men in spite of everything they’ve dealt with. I’m sure she would be so proud.
