Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge very much dressed the part for her first military role as a royal today.

She joined husband Prince William at Windsor’s Victoria Barracks for the presentation of service medals to members of the Irish Guards.

Catherine wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 coat.

The figure-hugging dark navy double-breasted coat has a very distinct military feel with its epaulets and double row of brass gold buttons.

This is the 3rd time Catherine has worn Alexander McQueen since was married in a McQueen gown back in April.

Blue suede Prada pumps, a navy Rachel Trevor-Morgan hat, a gold shamrock brooch and an Anya Hindmarch Marano clutch completed her look.

The presented version of this coat with a cut-out shorter front is available to purchase from Net-A-Porter International and Matches.
