Alicia Keys In Givenchy Couture – 2011 Keep A Child Alive Black Ball

Alicia Keys attended the 2011 Keep A Child Alive Black Ball in London last night. The event raises money to provide treatment and support to families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

The singer wore a custom Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci custom-made long bustier black gown.

The gown was embroidered with black ostrich feathers on the skirt and accented with a gold metal articulated belt.

She added Givenchy accessories including suede leather sandals and black satin clutch, plus Chaumet jewels to her look.

Her dramatic dress is perfect for this ball, but I find the nude back panel and the cascading ruffle detail distracting.

Alicia also performed at this event with Tinie Tempah wearing another Givenchy look.

Her short zipped black lace and silk dress was worn with black bondage leather sandals and Chaumet jewels.

Im not liking this look. It makes her look bigger than she is. She looks better singing on stage.

I don’t like dresses with many fabrics and textures. I think this is quite ugly, and she looks wider. How could she change the hairstyle from straight to curly?

The hair enigma is bugging me too! I think she looks great at the front but confused at the back

I agree. That nude panel wasn’t needed. The dress was beautiful without it.
Alicia appears to be improving on the red carpet. Maybe she hired a competent stylist.

Ugh – pet peeve: visible zippers.
Unless they are a design feature, which works on something edgy or rock-and-roll, they are ugly and clumsy looking. In this case, it makes something kind of awkward (the panel) look downright stiff and ugly.

However, she does look adorable on stage. She really looks better in something more relaxed as it suits her personality.

She has just had a baby a couple of months ago so … yeah she has gained a little weight… Some women have harder to lose it after a pregnancy
