Celebrity Shoe Swap: Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan was spotted on her way to the Junior Spring Benefit wearing Yves Saint Laurent “Trib too” platform pumps.

These pumps weighed her Valentino dress down. She really could have used a splash of colour; especially since it’s summer.

Shoes Carey Should Have Worn:

Nicholas Kirkwood’s suede peep-toe platform pumps would have worked with Carey’s entire look – even her pink lip colour. The details in Kirkwood’s latest Fall 2011 collection are exquisite and this pump features a kiltie fringe.

I love the wooden platform on these bright orange Casadei suede open toe pumps. They’re completely different from the boring heels Carey wore.

Rupert Sanderson’s Fabia multi-colour python pumps are stunning! These heels are my favourite choice as they add both colour and excitement to her outfit.

Alaïa’s metallic pewter leather sandals complement Carey’s metallic clutch. Even though they’re heavily embellished with studs, they match the level of detail on her laser cut Valentino dress.

I love writing these posts. They mainly depend on celebrities wearing bad shoes!

I love these posts too. Can we do a celebrity face swap also?

Every time I see one of these pampered, overpaid, pouting, bratty celebs it makes me want to scream.

You’re being paid millions of dollars, being given free clothes, styled and swag. Smile for God’s sake.

yes a simple smile would life a lot of these looks.

That’s why I love Blake…she always has a smile even through her naked scandal.

Carey isn’t an adventurous girl so I feel the Casadei pumps would have been the perfect choice for her to say true to her style. The color is so pretty and I love the wooden platforms too.
*walks away staring at her clutch though*

I agree, the Casadei pumps would look good and also fit her style.

I’m inclined towards the Kirkwoods but would be unhappy with the Rupert Sanderson choice either – both would have done wonders for this outfit….

I don’t like any choice with this dress, but if i had to choose one… Azzedine Alaia

What is a kiltie fringe? I’ve looked at the shoe and I still can’t tell.

LOL I was wondering the same thing.

I’m with you, Shoerazzi, the Rupert Sanderson all the way.

I feel like Carey is almost deliberately trying to fade back into obscurity with her hair back to its original mousy brown shade, and the slew of bad shoe choices…
