Stella McCartney’s BFFs Liv Tyler and Naomi Watts turned out to support the unveiling of Stella McCartney’s Resort 2012 collection in New York City yesterday.
The colourful Hawaiian-style collection was showcased in a church fete setting in the West Village.
Liv opted for a simple summery colour-block Stella McCartney Resort 2012 Tokyo blue and white dress with nude Stella McCartney buckled faux patent-leather sandals.
Stella’s look was trademark Stella; blazer, tee and jeans. I think she lives in those grey ombre jeans.
Her celeb BFF Naomi Watts is also a huge fan of her Stella McCartney Resort 2010 black jacket which she’s worn several times.
She paired her jacket with an ivory embroidered top, red shorts and espadrille wedges.
Bono was the surprise guest at this event.

Models danced around the garden with hula-hoops, blew bubble blowers, played croquet and took turns trying to crack open a Piñata in their Resort 2012 looks.
The looks ranged from sharply tailored blazers with cigarette pants, bow accented dresses, knit sweaters, bold stripes plus Hawaiian prints.
Accessories included bow front heels, faux snake-skin bags and shoes with pink neon trims, kitten heels and nude pumps.
No doubt Liv, Naomi or other celeb BFF Gwyneth Paltrow will be the first celebs to showcase this collection.

Stella McCartney never smiles.
She’s smiling in the photos with Liv Tyler.
I mean a true mouth-open tooth showing smile. She just smirks.
I do the same thing because I have thin lips, a wide toothy smile makes my lips disappear so I don’t do it often in photos, maybe that’s why Stella smiles like that. Just a thought

Loving the striped looks.
Is it just me or are the striped rigid top and skirt in the last photo a bit too pradaesque? I mean i know that trends run through all the catwalks and the colours are different but it has a very similar essence. I love her clothes but often i do think her clothes are a little similar to others and her trouser suits get a bit boring (not to be quoting Lizzy Jagger and her mean statement!!) Dont get me wrong, i would happily wear most of her collections (so in a way isnt that all i could ask for?) but her designs don’t leave me inspired the way some would. Maybe she’s a trend follower more than a setter (not that i havent seen MANY dresses with oranges on them all over the highstreet!).

I like that white ensemble with all the black bows. Honestly, I’m a fan of Stella, and often, when I see her collection I’m not particularly impressed but then, when I see her clothes on “normal women” I think they work very well, they’re so feminine.
