Aishwarya Rai attended the Prix de Diane Longines at Hippodrome de Chantilly in France yesterday.
The Indian actress wore a peach Elie Saab Spring 2011 look with an oversized hat.
Firstly, I really dislike the hat. It’s doing nothing for her.
Secondly, in every picture she’s either holding or covering her stomach which leads me to think of two things.
She’s not comfortable in what she’s wearing, which is impossible because it’s Elie Saab.
Or she’s hiding something.
A baby bump perhaps?
Whatever it is something doesn’t feel quite right about this look and I’m hugely turned off by that.
Fan Bing Bing wore a similar embellished Elie Saab shrug back in March.

My take is she certainly superstitious: when pregnant, you most be modest, & you can’t show off your belly like western women do, if you care for a healthy child…

You’re so right, but in Cannes she didn’t look pregnant… and it was only a month ago.
I’m not a fan of this look or the hat, but she looks beautiful as always. No reason to hide the baby bump though–especially when it’s this obvious.
Aishwarya looks beautiful, I love the colour on her, the dress is making her look bigger then she is, check out these pictures which were clicked a night before she went to France.

She’s holding her belly because she’s flaunting the watch she is promoting. Plus there is no official news or announcement about her pregnancy so its just a rumor
Either way I’m surprised she doesn’t seem bothered about the weight gain. She hasn’t bothered to hit the gym or make better choices for her wardrobe!

She looked like she was going to the Kentucky Derby or attending a royal wedding. Either way, she appeared quite uninteresting, unlike her past looks.

Unless she’s pregnant, there’s no excuse at all for this. Even if she is pregnant, peach is apparently NOT her colour, and she really needed to re-think those shoes, which are doing terrible things to her legs.
It is confirmed today that she is pregnant! Again no excuse of wearing this but yeah she was trying to hide the bump I guess.

The outfit together with a hat the same color is a little overwhelming for any wearer, even if is this fine peachy nuance.
For the actress, it does not help her much. First of all, she’s got weight. You could see that in the teal dress at Cannes Festival. Here is even more evident that the outfit chosen as fine as it is, does not advantage her silhouette, or her style.
Yet the outfit is very ladylike, very fine for a royal in her sixties and beyond, unless you could detach it piece by piece and wear them with some more lively wardrobe items.
She should get another stylist to take care of her red carpet looks.
