Most Unpredictable Award
The 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards took place in New York City last night and one of the attendees was Kirsten Dunst.
The actress totally surprised me by not wearing Chanel and opting for suit by menswear designer Patrik Ervell, which she pulled off rather well.
Her black suit with blue ombre velvet lapels was teamed Prada black pumps.
A high tight bun, pink lips and Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

For me this is a proof that all good runs come to an end.
Love the blue lapels on that jacket, and love that she switched up her look so dramatically. Don’t like the white shirt or the hair.
Is this those in-fashion “high-waisted slims?”
but wearing “androgenic” type of clothes!
You have to be a great beauty….all with very long legs……and quite slim!
With this glamourous expressive feminine cut costume top….. why wear a button to the throat simple white shirt????…in easy a man’s shirt???
she looks so lost in her ” deguisement”
a total “OUT” look!
I am not a fan of suits but happily make an exception now; gorgeous!
she looks cute! i appreciate that shes mixed it up. the blue lapels really bring out the colour of her eyes.
dont normally love hoops, but with the pink lippy, they add a sassy touch to her ensemble.
Great look for her I think..
Love stepping out of the box, but I don’t think this was the right way to do it. It feels way too severe, and I don’t think it was styled right.
I think the whole look is too severe and (perhaps) ill-fitted. Not a favorite. A messier bun would have worked to soften the look.
one of my favourite looks from CFDA
Mine too. As FC said, unpredictable and fresh. A nice change for her.
This is totally something I would want to wear, except the hoops, they look kinda tacky in combination with the high bun
As much as I like dresses, I like it, because it’s unpredictable, different and not boring.
I think it is too severe and not accessorized well. The bun seems to tight and I definitely do not like the hoops. They kind of cheapen the look.
For once, I don’t hate what she’s wearing. Looks modern & funky. Me likey *thumbs up*
She deserves a standing ovation! STUNNING!
I like it. It’s different.
mee too. she looks good and it’s a refreshing change.
For once, she looks gorgeous and chic. I love this
Wrong shirt, but otherwise I think it works. Even her hair–her face is a little too square for this style, but as she gets older other angles are coming out so I think she can get away with it–not sure why she wants to, but apparently she does.
I agree about the shirt, but otherwise I loved this look. It is out-of-the box somewhat, and for Kirsten who can be more miss than hit, this one is a winner in my book.
i love this look and i even like the white shirt. It’s very 80s and Brian Ferry for me.
I also think that the hair, makeup and earrings work really well.
So far my favourite of the event.
Love this look. It’s the perfect blend of feminine and masculine. The accessories and hair perfect the look. The color of the jacket and her hair pulled back really bring out her beautiful blue eyes. This look could have looked stiff but she has the right attitude. Go, Kiki!
I agree with you, I really like this look, I would have like it more with other shoes, but to me she deserves to be up for BDOTW, she totally pulled it off, which it’s not easy.
I really liked this; I think the fit is fantastic and it’s a great switch from the flowy things she’s been wearing. I would have liked it more if she had unbuttoned a few buttons though so it doesn’t look so severe.
What a delightful, refreshing surprise!
Possibly the best look of last night. Considering how unexciting everybody else was.
I don’t like it! Everything appears to be concise but that’s why it doesn’t work for me. She could have added an unexpected element like a different hair style, a feminine shirt or a different pair of shoes to make this more fun!
The suit is good, but the styling is terrible. Kirsten isn’t ever one of my favourites, but this look did her no favours at all.
She looks amazing! I would love to see her on BDOTW!
Ooh, the hair is way too severe! I also think the shoes are a major fail – why go boring black when a pair of blue jeweled sandals could have looked awesome. I’d love to see some shoe alternatives FC!
the lapels are hand dyed silk not blue ombre velvet
Yip i agree for once i don’t hate what she is wearing…i like the hair up and the earrings for a change
Love it.
