Bling Bling Award
You wait weeks for Balmain to hit the red carpet, then two looks arrive in one night.
Leighton Meester also wore Balmain to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards tonight.
The “Gossip Girl” actress rocked a Fall 2011 silver mini dress with mirrors, bugle beads and every bedazzling embellishments known to mankind adorning her mini dress.
Usually the honor of wearing a first look from Balmain runway goes to the likes of Kate Moss, but on this occasion it goes to Leighton.
The normally brunette star (who is naturally blonde) was showcasing some gorgeous lighter locks on this occasion.
Meester never lets me down in the footwear department. Black strappy Pierre Hardy sandals with yet more silver embellishments complete her look.
I’m sensing a radiant glow here, which I didn’t get from her at the Met Gala.

Beyond overkill. I think they’ve sewn everything but the kitchen sink on that thing. I usually expect Leighton to bring some edge to the events that she attends but here she has gone for the utterly predictable – MTV event, must wear overdone, subtlety-free Balmain dress.
There is something totally off about this look. The dress is too baggy and the shoes are unflattering. I also thought this was Minka Kelly until just now.
Totally agree – I think it works on the model as she is so slim but this does not translate into the same look for Leighton. It makes her look a little thick around the waist and the shoes look like they are tied far too tight.
I like it, but it doesn’t really look like Leighton. At first, I thought it was a JLo 2011 Grammy’s copycat.
My favourite of the night by far. I cannot find a fault with this look. She looks fantastic!
absolutely dazzling ensemble. i love the shoes with that spectacular dress. but is she technically the first to wear that look since mila kunis also wore something from this collection?
The dress is too diva-esque for her real life personality (as opposed to blaire waldorf, which is how i see her as, always) the garment is ill fitting.
Leave this dress to Kylie Minogue or JLO to rock Leighton. You need some Bottega in your life.

Um she is smoking!!! She could not have looked any better and the lighter locks are doing wonders for her.

i love the dress, I love the shoes
but I don´t love them compined together!!!. The dress is very sparkly & flashy. Also the shoes.
I just think it would have looked better If she chose just the dress with casual black or white shoes
or the shoes with a little black dress!

What an awful look. And Leighton is looking more and more like Minka Kelly everyday with that ugly hair style. The Balmain dress hangs so badly on her that not even her shoes can save the look.
I wish I had legs like that! Stunning does not even describe her! Normally I don’t like sequin overload dresses but she seems to make it look effortless.
I find this dress entirely unflattering. She has no waist! And, I wish her hair was up b/c there’s a lot going on with that dress. A sleek ponytail would have enhanced this look, IMHO.
Seems a bit heavy for Spring.
