Excuse me whilst I pick my chin off my desk.
As always Salma Hayek floor me again tonight (as she always does in Gucci) when she arrived at the ‘Il Mondo Vi Appartiene’ Dinner during the 54th International Art Biennale at Fondazione Cini in Venice, Italy this evening.
My favourite Gucci brand ambassador once again does the brand proud by looking sensational wearing a one-of-a-kind Gucci one shoulder maroon dress.
The fully embroidered fitted dress was paired with a matching crepe shrug.
As much I’m dying to see the full affect of the dress without the shrug, it does add an air of sophistication to the overall look.
Despite this being as close to perfection as perfection can be and the fact this look is perfect for the occasion, I would’ve loved to have seen this look as a gown.
Does anyone else agree?
A sweeping updo, a multi-coloured snake-skin clutch and matching peep-toes completed this look.

I like the shrug with it, I think it helps keep the “twins” in check as it covers any side-spillage.
It would be breath-taking as a gown but I still think it’s stunning short.
Gee, the BDOTW candidates are all appearing on Wednesday this week! She is such a knockout and that dress is perfection. Great color for her, perfectly styled. All that and to be in Venice, too.
I don’t like the shrug, but the dress and the waist… PERFECT
I think she looks AMAZING, but I’m not blown away like FC
I agree FC, I would have preferred this as a gown. Salma has such a great, short and curvy figure that she’s not easy to dress. The ones with tall, boyish figures are the easiest to dress. But with her being so short and so curvy, she looks best in gowns anyway, it elongates the body.
But she is still dazzling and ruby red is a great color on a brunette.
Like a glove.
Isn’t she fabulous??? This woman looks good in a tee and jeans. And this dress was MADE for her, definitely!!!
Wow. She’s stunning. I like the length on her, the color is great, her hair & makeup complement it so well – just perfect all the way around.
BDOTW contender, for sure. I like the shrug with it.
Salma is single handedly turning me back into a Gucci fan. She has worn pieces that I totally overlooked before. This fits her like a glove. She is filling out every inch of that dress and working it! I love the fit and color. She looks amazing.
O.M.G. She is stunning!!! Selma looks better than most 20 year old women!!! Perfection.
How glamorous! The dress fits her like a glove. BDOTW?
Va va va voom done tastefully. Look at that tiny waist! Having just looked at Miranda Kerr in the grey Alaia, I was thinking about how an Alaia often separates those with a waistline from those without. There was hardly an indentation between Kerr’s bustline and her hips. But Hayek in Gucci – wow. Agree with Catriona, the shrug helps keep the girls from overwhelming the look.
Yeah her waist is so tiny! It looks like she’s wearing a corset!
beautiful! she looks so great and ladylike. love the color. the fabric is wonderful.
Everything is hittin & fittin! -BDOTW contender
I’m not usually blown away by Salma.I’m usually way more into gowns than shorter dresses. I like most of her looks, but I rarely ever rave about her. To me, she’s no Cate or Diane. But this look? I honestly believe this is best dressed of the YEAR material.
I die.
BDOTW candidate. She looks STUNNING.
STUNNING! BDOTW for me.
i don’t like the sleeves!
I think it’s more event-appropriate for it to be a mini than a gown, FC. But I do wish to see this lovely look without the shrug. And I thought this was a slow week
, come Miranda and Salma and that all changes
.
she does look stunning!
but something about this look is very out-dated, it might be the up-do, the earings or maybe the whole thing matches too much
Wow wow wow. Beautiful, I love this colour on her and I like the shrug. It has a Dolce Vita quality, quite Sophia Loren/Gina Lollobrigida – I love her hair, the whole look is elegant, simple and super sexy. BDOTW worth definitely.
Stunning!! we certainly do not see enough gucci premiere I love every piece that is created.
Wow i can’t believe how good Salma looks. Usually she is on my worst dressed list.
Perfection! I love the styling, and she is glamorous as always.
In a different colour, it could still be a beautiful gown on someone else.
Stunning. The color is so sensual. The shrug is a bit distracting, but I think that without it she would have veered into harlot territory because of her effortless sex appeal.
Wow! Salma is classy and smoking hot. Perfection as it is…
A bit too matchy-matchy, for me, but she looks great.
Stunning!
Wowzers!!! I guess everyone else can stay home for the rest of the week! I’m thinking BDOTW is a lock. I agree with the many comments that this is Perfection.
Wowzer!her body is almost cartoon like.she really does glow, like the dress but love the look because salma really does sell it!
Perfection.
She is so hot. She looks amazing.
she looks fantastic. this is what a curvy woman looks like. not someone like beth ditto, she is just fat
BDOTW for sure! She looks amazing & I love the color!
I’m in love, it looks like she was poured into this. DROOL.
WOW! She’s stunning!
Great, great, great dress. It has been a loooong time since I’ve seen a dress this lenght that had wowed me. She looks stunning – I don’t like the hair much – and I think all the wanna be celebrities and models world wide should take a note that you can wear a fitted, sexy, stunning dress that is not a bandage dress.
wow kat, I was thinking how nicer this would have looked as a gown and there you go and say the exact same thing:)cool
