Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Oprah Winfrey waved goodbye to her viewers of The Oprah show yesterday wearing a L’Wren Scott Spring 2011 dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewels yesterday.

The TV hosts custom L’Wren Scott coral silk dress with an ombre chiffon belt had 3/4 length sleeves in comparison to the sleeveless runway version.

I love the colour on her.

Every time I see Oprah she’s wearing Fall-like colours, so this is very refreshing to me.

If the dress looks familiar, that’s because Kyra Sedgwick has worn the runway version to the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

Cut-out dresses have been a consistent trend on the red carpet for a few months, with some of our favorite celebs showcasing their Pilates toned abs in this very creative and uber sexy way.

Halle Berry, Karolina Kurkova and Selena Gomez have been embracing this trend recently, which appears to be a big hit as temperatures begin to warm up.

Halle was the most recent star to bring this trend to the red carpet.

The eternally sexy actress rocked her Halston dress with an asymmetrical cut-out last night, but many of you commented that the look wasn’t quite age appropriate and her modification of the dress was slightly tacky.

Love it or hate it, this trend was made for a body like Halle’s.

Subtle cut-outs have also been featured on dresses worn by Ginnifer Goodwin, Kerry Washington and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

All of these ladies showcased this trend in different ways in long gowns and short dresses; cut-outs are a great way to show a peak of skin and, when done properly gives off maximum sex appeal without being trashy.

This is a great trend to look hot whilst keeping cool. I’m sure we will continue to see more off this trend over the summer.

Dior hosted a P.S. ARTS Bag luncheon this week.

They invited some of our favourite stars including Emmy Rossum, Sophia Bush and Kristen Davis.

The stylish trio were decked out head-to-toe in Dior.

Emmy Rossum wore a Dior coral organza dress with a colourful braided leather belt. She also carried a nude Dior handbag with matching nude shoes.

I love her fluffy curls.

Sophia’s look was less summery as she opted for a black organza belted top with a Dior laser cut burgundy leather skirt. Black Dior accessories completed this look.

Kristen was radiant wearing a fuchsia Dior belted dress.

Her accessories included a nude Lady Dior bag and nude Jimmy Choo ‘Nexus’ sandals.

Despite Sophia opting for a Fall look, she is my favourite here mostly because her look is quintessential Dior from head-to-toe.

Everyday my girl (woman) crush on Michelle Obama grows.

She looked divinely elegant earlier today when she was spotted with her husband Barack Obama, as they arrived at Stansted Airport near London.

The couple were enroute to France for a G8 summit.

Michelle wore a Peter Som Fall 2010 pink ombré jacquard sheath dress and coat.

I love the brooch detail which holds her coat together.

Minus the white gloves, I think her accessories have been impeccable and perfectly complement each look during this trip.

The First Lady opted to match her patent pumps with her look, plus she added a navy tote with gold hardware.

A chic updo and drop earrings completed the look.

Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet at the “American Idol” 2011 Finale Results Show before performing with Lauren Alaina, who ended up being the runner up on night.

This is first time I’m noticing how toned Carrie’s legs are in this Lorena Sarbu Pre-Fall 2011 mini dress. I think I’m so accustomed to seeing her in gowns.

Her long sleeve tunic dress was typically bedazzled with beaded embellishments.

I love Carrie in this dress, but it’s super dupa short. Thankfully she totally pulls off this look without taking it to Tackyville, USA.

Sergio Rossi ‘Cachet’ embellished satin slingback and a small Swarovski box clutch completed her look.

Celine Dion took to the red carpet for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards back in February wearing an Armani Privé white organza long-sleeved gown.

The singer kept her accessories to a minimum, choosing to add only a statement diamond necklace.

I love this look on Celine. With her minimal make-up and gorgeous bouncy curls this look is glamorous and Oscar worthy.

Despite this being a Cannes-worthy look, Penelope Cruz actually wore a red version of the same dress to the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” Munich Premiere.

The beautiful actress stunned us all in this look, choosing to pair the dress with matching satin heels, a boxy red clutch and diamond stud earrings.

She wore her hair slicked back in a bun and kept the focus of her makeup on her eyes.

Penelope undoubtedly looks incredible. The colour, fit of the dress and her accessories all combine together to create an unforgettable look.

She managed to win BDOTW, even during Cannes, which is definitely saying something.

Celine looked great but the red version of the dress is so much sexier and dramatic, so Penelope wins for me.
