Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2011

Angelina Jolie was joined on the red carpet today for the “Kung Fu Panda 2″ LA Premiere by her co-star Jack Black and beau Brad Pitt.

I was surprised that most of you didn’t like Angelina’s Atelier Versace Cannes gown, because it was the first time in a long time she’d stepped out of her box.

On this occasion she was very firmly in the box, but looking stunning nonetheless wearing Michael Kors.

Her Fall 2011 look included a simple black satin short sleeved top paired with a simple black skirt with a thigh-high split.

The look was accessorized with a Michael Kors leather buckle belt and her favoured Ferragamo heels.

Those emerald green jewels she wore to the “Kung Fu Panda 2″ photocall in Cannes would’ve worked better with this look.

But simple always works best for Angelina.

Janet Jackson was the guest of honour at the Life Ball 2011, which was held in Vienna, Austria last night.

The singer wore a Marchesa gown from the Fall 2011 collection.

Her ebony duchess satin hand draped asymmetrical gown with a velvet flare skirt appears to nip her in at the waist without the aid of a waistband.

Janet accessorized with a black cuff.

Some dazzling jewels or an onyx embellished clutch were needed to add some sparkle to this look.

Update: Uma is in Armani Privé.

Kirsten Dunst also attended the 2011 Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony at the Palais des Festivals this evening.

Robert De Niro presented Kirsten with the Prix de l’Interpretation Feminine (Best Female) Award for “Melancholia.”

I was really excited about her Chanel Spring 2010 Couture look, but that was short-lived when I panned down to her feet.

I’m not sure why these black pointy heels were added to her nude embellished dress with a heavenly fluffy skirt, but they have killed the look stone dead for me.

It hurts just to look at her shoes.

Uma Thurman joined her fellow jurors for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony at the Palais des Festivals this evening.

She was luminous wearing an electric blue Armani Privé gown, which just happens to be my favourite colour on the red carpet.

Her stunning gown with rhinestone embellishments around the neckline, hemline and the along the back was paired with silver heels for the first time this festival.

This was rare for the juror who mostly hit the red carpet in Jimmy Choo flats during this festival.

A chic chignon and silver disc earrings completed her look.
