Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2011

Mischa Barton was spotted leaving Mahiki nightclub in London last night, after attending the No-Tell Motel Southern Comfort Room Launch party.

She scrubbed up very well wearing a MW Matthew Williamson beetle print silk blouse from the Fall 2011 collection, with a yellow pleated Willow Spring 2011 skirt.

I have a bit of a yellow shoe fetish at the moment, so I’m crushing on her Charlotte Olympia platform heels.

Mischa’s blouse is our first peek at a look from Matthew Williamson’s diffusion line.

The designer said he created the line after becoming sick of people saying, “I love it, but I can’t afford it,” with regards to the mainline collection.

So far it looks great; hopefully we’ll get to see more soon.

Usually I’m asleep during New York Premieres because of the time difference, but I’m guessing the “Kung Fu Panda II” New York Premiere took place early today because it’s an animated flick.

Lucy Liu took to the red carpet with funny man Jack Black wearing an Antonio Berardi jacquard and crepe dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

Her black dress with a puffy skirt and an inverted white collar was paired with a hot pink Roger Vivier clutch.

If you look at the close up you can see the floral detail embossed into the bodice.

I love her black Casadei sandals with the multi-coloured heel.

This is a very winter-esqe dress for Spring don’t you think?

Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron met again today on the steps of 10 Downing Street in London, on Day 1 of the Obama’s state visit.

The two fashion savvy ladies both wore British based designers.

Mrs O opted to wear Roksanda Ilincic who she’s worn before.

On this occasion she wore a purple drape neck Roksanda Ilincic Pre-Fall 2011 dress with a Narciso Rodriguez blue coat. The look was accessorized with a black belt and black kitten heels.

Purple appears to be Mrs O’s signature colour.

She’s radiant in purple.

Samantha Cameron opted to wear Peter Pilotto.

The design duo are having a great day because Rose Byrne also wore a look from their Spring 2011 collection last night.

Samantha’s Peter Pilotto dress is the same shorten version Carey Mulligan wore to the Los Angeles Times “Young Hollywood” Roundtable last year.

Grey pumps (thank god they’re not black) completed her look.

Katie Holmes attended the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last night.

Her Holmes & Yang collection has only been worn twice on the red carpet, so I’m glad she gave this eye catching look a run out.

She looked beautiful wearing a fuschia Holmes & Yang silk crepe de chine blouse with pleated cap sleeves and a tie neckline, which she matched with a pleated skirt.

As not to overshadow her look she carried a simple black clutch and black sandals.

She looks absolutely radiant.

Would you believe that the Michelle Obama is the first person to wear a look from the Preen Fall 2011 collection.

I absolutely loved this collection and I haven’t been happy about the lack of celebrity love, so this look has totally made my day.

The First Lady wore a Preen violet cropped jacket with a matching high-waist pencil skirt and with the runway printed blouse as she disembarked Air Force One with US President Barack Obama at Stansted Airport yesterday evening.

The original look was presented as a crop top and not a jacket, but I love Mrs O interpretation.

Teal suede pumps and orange Cathy Waterman earrings completed this BDOTW worthy look.

I love that she wore a British designer whilst touching down on British soil.

First Lady Michelle Obama and US President Barack Obama were greeted by the Queen as they arrive at Buckingham Palace today in London.

The Obama’s are in town for a two day State Visit thanks to a special invitation from the Queen.

During the trip they will attend a state banquet at Buckingham Palace and the President will address both houses of parliament at Westminster Hall.

Michelle opted for a cropped jacket instead of a cardigan today with her Barbara Tfank Resort 2011 dress.

I love the floral print dress, but I really don’t like the cropped jacket.

The pop of colour is very much her style, it’s the way it flares out at the back which I object to.

Newlyweds Prince William and Catherine Middleton were both at the Palace to greet the Obama’s.

Catherine is following the Queen’s lead by carrying a bag whilst being at home.

Being married to a Prince hasn’t changed her style, as she’s still championing the high street by wearing a Reiss Shola bandage dress.
