Carla Bruni-Sarkozy proudly showed off baby bump for the first time at the G8 world leaders’ summit in France yesterday, confirming that she is indeed pregnant.
She made the confirmation in impeccable chic Parisian style wearing Chanel.
Her white tweed Chanel dress was worn with a long black tweed Chanel Couture jacket and black Louboutin kitten heels.
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and her husband French President Nicolas Sarkozy greeted U.S. President Barack Obama for an evening dinner function at Le Ciro’s Restaurant in Deauville, France yesterday.
Carla opted for a very simple black dress with diamante embellished sandals and a silver clutch.
Silver drop earrings completed her look.
Like January Jones, Selma Blair and Victoria Beckham, Carla is glowing.

I personally think that the white dress is too short and if she didn’t have on the jacket i’d have to cover my eyes.
The black dress is super cute on her even though the shoes are a huge snooze!
Shame her husband isn’t taller, she’d be lovely in sky high heels.

I find it weird that they haven’t offically said they’re expecting, especially when it’s so obvoius.
Well Sarkozy is playing it smart, he does not want to be accused of using his wife’s pregnancy to get him the sympathy of the voters (the French presidential election is next year). It will actually be the first time that a French president has a baby while in activity !

Actually it was ofically confirmed during the G8 Summit that Carla is four months pregnant. I can only assume that like many couples they chose to not say anything before the first thimester was over…
it could be that they simply dont want to jinx it. carla isnt old, but to have a child she seems a little “old” (if that makes sense) and at her age there could be a complication or a problem later down the line so they might want to keep it quiet for that reason.

Both looks are super cute and yes, she’s glowing and yadda yadda yadda, but that’s the G8 Summit, not a personal event. The dresses are too short and not appropriated at all for the occasion.

Chic and lovely, as always. As a pregnant woman, I know how dowdy loose-fitting, knee-length smocks make me look and feel, so I think that with legs like hers the shorter lengths were a good call.
Michelle O. is interesting to watch but I think Carla is BORING! Yes, she’s smart but where’s the fun, the drama? Jane Fonda and Helen M. have obviously a younger dressing!

It’s a pleasure to hear this opinion for once.. I totally agree that since she’s first lady, her dressing is old and boring (and what about her haircut!).. If she thinks she can get to the french people’s heart and get them forget who she really is with all those too serious outfits, she’s damn wrong: it’s not working.. Everything about her scream: you’re trying too hard!

I hope that this isn’t indicative of her pregnancy style. She usually wear color, doesn’t she. I hope that Carla doesn’t start looking like Victoria Beckham and wear all black all the time.
