Despite keeping her look low key, Rose Byrne still oozed oodles of glamour on the red carpet at the “X-Men: First Class” New York Premiere tonight.
She opted for super sexy Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 navy lace dress.
The long sleeve dress was of course lined, but we still get to clearly see the bold lace details.
Many of you haven’t warmed to Rose’s blunt bangs, so you’ll be pleased to see she opted for side sweeping bangs with her beehive ‘do.
A navy satin Kotur J.B. Renna Karung clutch, Cartier jewels and nude Brian Atwood pumps completed this stunning BDOTW worthy look.

same!
Oh my God, I’m speechless! This for me is as perfect as Rose has looked in a long while. Everything comes toegther beautifully – the sideswept up-do, the gorgeous Bardot-esque makeup and of course that stunning dress. Polished, but so not trying. I didn’t think that Emily Browning really did justice to her Marc Jacobs A/W 2011 dress at the MET Ball but Rose has nailed it here. BDOTW, undoubtedly.
Gorgeous–I agree with Luis (how could I, but I do)
divine! definitely prefer the side swept bangs!
I agree that this is BDOTW. I didn’t find a single thing in Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2011 for the red carpet, so it was great that she took the runway and actually made it wearable from this collection. Not crazy about the heels, but love everything else.
Now this is how “transform” a dress. I mean I would never imagine how this dress on the runway works if Rose didn’t inject it with impressive hair and makeup. I mean if Reese Witherspoon had wore this, that would have passed my mind immediately.
Pure Perfection! She’s WERKING this dress!
Loved it head to toes! She’s amazing!
I love Rose, but I wonder how she could make this Marc Jacobs dress look so bland and lifeless. The fit is perfect, but other that, meh.
She looks WAY too old in this. This aged her WAY too much. I want to see someone like Monica Bellucci wear this. Not her. This is also the third red carpet look I’ve seen that is copying the Kate Middleton dress.
Just want to say FC, your comment on 17/5/11: “Nicole should’ve been the judge.
I think she’s the host as safety net.
If it doesn’t work out with Cheryl I’m sure Nicole will replace her.”
was extremely prescient. Sorry it’s off topic in the post, but I might come to you for my lottery numbers next week.
I’m sad for her that I was right, but I knew this would happen, just not so soon.
Simon set her up to fail, because let’s face it she was always going to with that accent
LOL when I heard about the Cheryl news, I immediately thought of FC too.
Very nice, beautifully made dress, yes BDOTW contender… but we are in frigging MAY!!!! it is not even summer yet! the dress sems too dark? or I do not know, heavy, even if it is lace.
Love the dress and hair color.
omg
She looks beautiful. I wished she wore a red accessory, maybe a necklace or earrings. The pop of red shown in the catwalk pic looks so good but still BDOTW worthy.
Once I get past the fact that I can’t even separate her from the carpet, I am still stuck with a dress I don’t really like. Despite being mostly see-though the dress still manages to look insanely heavy.
Not a fan.
So beautiful. I loved the Peter Pilotto too though. She most definitely deserves at least one spot in the poll this week!
I`m sorry, this is horrible ! I love Rose, but she looks like a cooko old lady here ! Terrible dress, hair and make-up!
I agree that the hair ages her dramatically.
I LOVE IT! a nude lining would have been even better though in my opinion…
As an Aussie and a big fan of Rose im really happy to see her finally coming into her own internationally
Season 4 of damages is only a month and a bit away
btw thanks for always featuring the Aussie girls FC
u do a great blog
My pleasure
Hey FC: Kotur J.B. Renna Karung Clutch
Your welcome
Love, Love, Love this look!
word!
The beehive-do is a bit too much (too high) but the dress is so beautiful, definitely BDOTW contender. She looks beautiful, I like her make up,and she chose great accessories.
it’s gorgeous and i love the details on the dress.
Now this is how to wear lace and not look like a grandma (Rosario.D. take note)
I always liked her bangs, but this hairstyle is even better!
So classy, even with the dull choice of footwear. BDOTW.
I LOVE it!!!!!
I love it, so so elegant. My only quibble is the hair – I wished she’d gone for something a bit more modern, like a sweeping side pony or plait. But that is only a minor issue and doesn’t prevent Rose being a worthy BDOTW contender!
Shoes aside, BDOTW contender for sure!
LOOOOVE !
i only wish the lining was a nude colour so you could see all the lace detail, but other than that she looks fantastic.
Rose is just so beautiful.
Love this look. Definitely BDOTW
Ditto
At first glance, I thought that she was Lea Michele.
I love the dress, but the styling is what is aging her. She needs to have some cute little sandals. The bouffant hairdo and heavy bangs are not doing her any favors.
Gorgeous from head to toe. BDOTW.
This dress is okay, nothing exciting or anything. It is certainly a step up from the runway look. Rose is so lovely but I am often distracted by her makeup. It always looks a bit of a wreck to me.
That hair makes her look elderly.
i was praaaaaaying to see more from this collection on the red carpet and rose totally wowed me! BDOTW for sure
Bad eye makeup, but I love the dress.
she looks good but I’m getting annoyed seeing so many F/W looks recently. It’s only May and there are still loads of S/S looks to be worn !
