The Obama’s weren’t the only American’s in town to attend the Buckingham Palace State Banquet in London yesterday.
Tom Hanks his gorgeous wife Rita Wilson were spotted leaving Claridge’s hotel enroute to Buckingham Palace for dinner with President Barack Obama and the Queen.
Like the President, Tom also wore a white bow tie which was clearly the theme for the evening.
Rita was dazzling wearing a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2011 gown.
Her nude off-the-shoulder tulle gown was embroidered with golden embellishments.
She kept the gold theme going by adding gold accessories.
I would’ve been tempted to add a belt to this look, but I think Rita manages to work this look well without one.

That was an appropriate choice. Nice. But,after seeing Mandy Moore wearing the gown at the Oscars, I would not give her more points.

Isn’t it the dress that Mandy Moore wore to the Academy Awards 2011? I prefer it on Mandy.
It suits Rita ages. Plus it has that classic look for more mature actress. Rita looks much better with this.
Having seen it on Mandy Moore it feels like a younger dress so doesn’t look right on Rita. It is also not quite what I would wear for a Buckingham Palace State function, more formal and less fluffy would be appropriate.

Of all the dresses out there, she choose to wear one that was already worn to a highly publicized event? Why not go for a whole new look? Monique Lhuillier had an amazing spring collection- the must have been something else she could have worn!

I am not really crazy about this dress on her. Maybe it’s her posture.

The gown makes both the model and Rita look thick around the waist, but not Mandy Moore that was not so. I LOVE this gown on Rita much more than Mandy. Rita looks stunning.
The make up is too heavy and she should have worn her signature loose curls. She looks like Tom’s mother here.

for some reason, this look ages her in my opinion. this dress is meant for a young ingenue. the lightness and ethereal nature of the dress just makes rita’s face look worn and old..
