Janet Jackson was the guest of honour at the Life Ball 2011, which was held in Vienna, Austria last night.
The singer wore a Marchesa gown from the Fall 2011 collection.
Her ebony duchess satin hand draped asymmetrical gown with a velvet flare skirt appears to nip her in at the waist without the aid of a waistband.
Janet accessorized with a black cuff.
Some dazzling jewels or an onyx embellished clutch were needed to add some sparkle to this look.

I really wanted to see this dress on the red carpet, but, the fitting is all wrong, it makes her look real small, it looks really different, i wish someone taller, or even tall haha would have used it. :/
This dress looks gorgeous on the model, but on Janet…. She ruins the dress for me
Janet reminds me of Aishwarya’ in the Armani Prive gown she wore to Cannes. Both of them are wearing similar gowns, updos, and even a big cuff. Overall, Aishwarya is the clear winner. Janet looks ok.
I agree. She looks great and in the dress too, but dazzling jewels and a midnight blue satin clutch would’ve been even BDOTW for me.
Wow, I think it looks great on Janet. Better than on the model. I guess it just a difference in personal taste as to what appeals to the eye.
I like it better on the model but it’s still a great dress and she looks amazing
I think she looked gorgeous.
I think she looks great. She seems to favor styles like this and I think she wears it well. I LOVE her hair short.
Gorgeous, but I agree she needed some jewels.
She looks great!!
Hate to be mean to Janet, but this just isn’t the dress for her. This dress isn’t made for anyone who’s not model size. It just adds too much to anyone’s figure. Not my fave at all.
Rock it, Janet! I have not seen you in anything that you did not look glamorous, sophisticated or confident; and even if you do dress-down on ocassions, I can’t complain. You still have it going on after all these years in the pubic eye. Love you and your family. Be Blessed.
