Sarah Jessica Parker In Halston – “Knickerbocker” Opening Night

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the “Knickerbocker” Opening Night at The Public Theater in New York City with her husband Matthew Broderick last night.

The actress opted to wear a Halston Fall 2011 wool coat with black Manolo Blahnik jeweled satin pumps.

If you’re thinking that this look feels a bit familiar.

That’s because SJP also owns this coat in purple.

One of the perks of being creative director is that you get to pick what you want in every colour.

Everytime i see this, it looks like a bathrobe to me !! sad because i am one of SJPs biggest fans!!

i am actually disappointed that it does not have the stitching like the runway model. I think that is a great eye catching detail.

It looks like a robe to me. I want my coats to look like coats, not robes, as comfy as they are.

She looks like she just got up and she put on her dressing gown and forgot to get dressed then when she reached the venue realised her mistake but it was too late so she had to put on a brave face.
I refuse to believe this is not a dressing gown.

While I like this coat on the model, on SJP it looks like a hotel bathrobe (the stitching detail is not there on SPJ’s version, but I’m not sure even this addition would have helped….)

I think it also has to be mentioned here, that she looks like she’s wearing a bathrobe… Maybe it works in the purple, but most certainly does not work in the white.

It looks like a bathrobe and not a coat. It looks like she was photographed as soon as she got up and put on a robe, but with the Blahniks!

Maybe she sleeps in Blahniks. :P

Is it so cold in NY? Women wear summer dresses in december and coats in spring?

I thought she was wearing an honest-to-God bathrobe. She should stick to the purple version.

The fabric looks very luxe and beautiful, but it is unavoidably in bathrobe territory.

totally looks like a bathrobe, or a fleece (the plastic kind) robe for lounging. i think it does look better w/o the stitching though. and i like the purple version, but i like purple anything, really.

    Ditto the bathrobe comments.

she looks nice, nothing special thouigh :-(

FC are you sure her shoes are the “hangisi” pumps, the brooch detail on SJPs looks more oval compared to the “hangisi”.

I wonder if she thinks about the first SATC movie each time she puts these heels on.

  15. Raquel May 22, 2011 at 01:23 #

Bathrobe!! Really, not good and fitting is awful.

  16. FelipeA May 23, 2011 at 00:47 #

I don’t understand why she keeps picking the coat without the detail. I just don’t get it. And since she’s gonna alter it, why wouldn’t she make it fit her like it fits the model?

    Bathrobe much?
