Jo Whiley In Stella McCartney – Ivor Novello Awards

Radio DJ Jo Whiley attended the Ivor Novello Awards at the Grosvenor House in London this lunchtime.

Finally someone has worn this Stella McCartney Citrus-print silk-satin dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

I was worried we were going to go a whole summer without seeing this on the red carpet, which proves I’ve become too used to celebrities wearing looks out-of-season as we’re barely out of May.

She teamed her bold halter dress which has a tabard-style open panel and two thigh-high splits with an orange bracelet, a chic updo and nude pumps.

The runway sandals would be better, but she looks fabulous nonetheless.

She looks AMAZING! I can forgive the shoes, as she is accessorising so beautifully with that gorgeous smile!

I agree and I forgive her for the shoes because she doesn’t have a stylist (I presume) who can shove the latest Brian Atwoods in her face.

Hey, I don’t have a stylist, but I would know not to wear pumps with such a summery dress. :P

I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting! Finally… it looks as amazing on the red carpet as on the runway! I’m surprised it’s taken this long to make it’s debut!

I think she does a great job pulling this off. I was beginning to think that no-one would wear it on the red carpet because it was too tricky a piece to pull off. She does a fabulous job of it. The shoes are my only reservation – uninspiring.

the shoes are bad but the rest is lovely especially when her best accessory is her smile.

oh and a little off topic but the ads for all saints on your site are so tempting, had to hide my bank card so i wont buy anything haha.

she looks great but I think the dress doesn’t work in the city.

If this was an outdoor event, I am OK with it. Otherwise I think it is more suited to a cruise ship or beach resort rather than the red carpet. And yes, sandals would have been better.

I really like the dress especially given the season she wore it in. The shoes not so much.
