We’ve seen Anna Dello Russo’s eccentric phase, she’s also had a fruit hat wearing phase, then a masculine phase; is a white phase next?
That looks to be the case, as the Vogue Nippon editor arrived at two events during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival last night wearing two white gowns.
The first was an Alberta Ferretti bridal-esqe gown with asymmetrical origami pleats and a full ruffled tiered silk tulle skirt which was custom-made for Anna.
She wore this to “The Tree Of Life” Premiere with a gold wheat, white rose accented fascinator with a black veil.
Later that same evening, Anna attended the “Fashion For Relief Japan Appeal 2011″ wearing yet another custom-made dress.
This crepe dress with white camellia detail at the waist and draping on the hips was especially designed by Moschino.
The first gown reminds me a lot of the Alberta Ferretti gown Winona Ryder wore to the 2011 SAG Awards.
This gown is too bridal for my taste, plus her jewels are too much for such a delicate gown.
I much prefer the styling of the Moschino look.
Which do you prefer?

for somebody in the Fashion world she does look stupid with the fascinator. If we had not had the Royal Wedding a few weeks ago, it might have been a fashion statement, but right now it’s overdone and looks like a copycat and frankly very uninspired.
she’s worn these alan journo hats since last year….WAY before the royal wedding. one may not like them, but she’s definitely not copying anyone’s style.
Ugh! How I Hate this woman.. She used to be so chic, now shes just craving for attention.., I cannot stand her.
Hm… I don’t hate her (I actually like her) but I see where it’s coming from. She was like a breath of fresh air with her bold accesories and embellished dresses among editors in black from head-to-toe. But now she is overexposed like Gaga. I don’t see thoughts or ideas in her outfits anymore. It’s just the flashiest items from the runway.
I like her too but agree with your comment – overexposure can be deadly, people do turn on you, they expect you to maintain the height of your creativity at all times, which is impossible and thus your fall from grace becomes inevitable…..
This woman is so bizarre.
Hating both looks. The Alberta Ferretti gown makes her looks like she gained a whole lotta weight and the Moschino gown is meg. Accessories often can’t save your look. Her Cannes look is the worst I have EVER seen her look.
I have nothing to say…orz
Agreed
I love AdR, she’s just feareless and I appreciate her for this. She does not know the meaning of the words “boring” and “safe”.
I hate both looks. What is with the fascination with ridiculous hats? Both dresses are very bridal and her accessories don’t work with either dress.
I like the first gown, but just the gown i like this woman but, she always exagerates with the jewellry, but well, that’s het style, but at least she could have had that dress more fitted, it makes her look big, maybe on a taller woman it would have looked better
Anna needs a stylist.
lol…she is a stylist
I know! But it’s true. She also needs a hairdresser on speed dial!
one word: awful
I hate both looks.
Yes indeed. Me too. It is an interesting study in how to make yourself look 20 pounds heavier, as in the first dress. In the second she almost looks svelte. And the hat… horrific. The hair… DEADFUL. It doesn’t look alive!
Obviously the looks are terrible, no doubt about that. However, she might appear more attractive if she’d smile.
2 gorgeous dresses and she manages to make them both look stupid. what is the fuss with her? honestly i dont get it. she always looks so cheap and tacky.
She is too old for both these looks!
I agree, I think she has great moments but the attention she gets is undeserving
Her facial expression never changes in any of her photos. With that said both looks are just not my taste. I appreciate the old Anna more
The Moschino is pretty good.
But the Ferretti is an utter disaster – she completely drowns in the gown. The proportions are just off.
None of them. She looks ridiculous lately.
The Ferretti looks like a costume on Anna. I don’t think that her big personality can fit with this romantic white bridal-ish ball gown and the accessories just makes it worst. I actually like her beautifully accessorized Moschino. Love her style or not, she is who she is; different and distinguished. Thumbs up for L’ADR.
I like her in Moschino but I would have kept the necklace worn with Ferretti, which fits her very bad, she looks like a pregnant bride… I agree with sergioA, she’s craving attention to the detriment of style.
Neither!
She is so rich, she can get any dress she wants… yet this woman is just ridiculous.
The first gown makes her look short & frumpy but the Moschino dress makes her look statuesque – very pretty.
Plus I think the fascinator works for her quirky persona.
Surely she doesn’t still need attention this badly – these looks are dreadful.
Anna belongs to street fashion and Fashion Week. She looks ‘boring’ on the red carpet. Also, please stop being omnipresent. Stick with your stage and do what you’re best at, or you’re putting an expiration date on your fame.
too much of evrything and it doesn’t work together.no for both looks
i guess i’ll stand as the lone voice who likes her moschino look. while i do think she looks positively bridal, that padlock necklace and solid gold toughen it up just enough.
