Penelope Cruz celebrated the release of her new movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” by landing the cover of American Vogue’s June 2011 issue.
So many of you complained about the overuse of elephants in Reese Witherspoon’s May 2011 editorial, so you’ll be please to discover that there are no Pirate references in Pen’s editorial.
The Spanish actress sports a clean natural look. I had never noticed her cute freckles before.
We see her wearing nothing but white Dolce & Gabbana pieces throughout her editorial, which showcases her outstanding figure making it hard to believe that she had a baby late last year.
Penelope’s June issue of Vogue hits stores nationwide May 24.
Here are some extracts from her interview.
On motherhood: “From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment—when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”
On discovering she was pregnant whilst filming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’: “I was pregnant and a pirate. It was a beautiful experience.”
On balancing motherhood and working: “Of course I will work, because we all need to work. But it’s very important to have time with my family.”

wow the spread uses a lot of Dolce & Gabbana, love it
there´s a lot o photoshop in the last pic, she´s in a good shape, but that waist is not hers, please!!!
Yeah, there’s a lot of photoshop in all of the pictures, but they really overdid it in the last one.
Too bad, she has a killer body as it is.
A lot of unnecessary photoshop in general. :/
completely agree!!!
wow gorgeous. They captured her beauty perfectly. Love the swimsuit
WHAT a stunner. love that B&W pic. the clothes are nice too
on the cover she looks like she is 17 wow
yes, it’s called photoshopping
totally! I didn’t recognise her, she looks nowhere like her. enough with retouching already, isn’t she beautiful enough on her own?
She looks so beautiful in the first pic.
But what is going on in the black and white pic?!?!
a lot of Photoshop!!!
Beautiful, but I wouldn’t have recognized her.
She’s such a beauty.
Without you telling me FC who that was i wouldn’t have known it!! Maybe she needs to write a letter like Kate Winslet, she is beautiful all on her own, that cover is just ridiculous
I really do prefer this clean nature look!
She looks so young in these pictures
She looks much more like she did years ago in the first movie I saw her in (with Javier Bardem, btw) which was called Jamon Jamon. Stunning
I can finally say I LOVE this American Vogue cover and cover story editorial. First time in years and years and years….
She looks like a man in the second last image, and to me she’s the most stunning female. Sad photoshop
Lol I thought it was Minka Kelly on the cover.
she looks freaking gorgeous without any photoshop
why VOGUE, why???
vogue does this (as with all fashion mags) so that they can sell more issues. younger woman on the cover catches more eyes at the news stands… it’s purely for commercial reasons.
it would be nice if more stars speak up and voice their complaints… it also shows how confident they are about their REAL looks.
