Mia Wasikowska arrived on the red carpet for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival “The Tree Of Life” Premiere wearing one of her favourite designers: Valentino.
The Australian actress seems to have not only taken a shine to the fashion house, but she seems to love wearing nude or neutral colours also.
Whilst I love her Valentino Spring 2011 Couture gown with its dreamy flowing skirt, I’m not such a fan of her hairstyle which drastically ages her.
The neck piece and the large ribbon are two parts of the gown I wish Mia had kept for her look.
I also find the coral colour of her clutch quite jarring for some reason. Something more delicate like a soft rose pink clutch would’ve been preferred.

I think this gown is perfect for her, especially the checkered plaid print. A darker yet soft pink clutch would’ve been better.
i liked her previous appearance, but this is washing her out. the hair doesn’t help.
She looks beautiful but she really should try more colours.
Meh.
totally agree in everything you say. The clutch should be the colour of her lipstick.
I like her hair, really, and the make up, but she’s wearing the same color (more or less) every day. I think it washes her out. I prefer the runway version because the detail of the neckline is beautiful.
If she had kept the runway version and changed her hair it might of worked, but as is, I don’t like it at all – a disappointment.
I adore Mia, but I’m starting to get bored with this much nude+Valentino. I love her when she goes a tad edgy and eccentric!
I agree, it’s a lovely combination, but I think she carried it a bit too far here. This really washes her out. And four or five nude dresses in a row? That said, I do love her raspberry lipstick!
I’m on team ‘wear a colour – please’! She’s so fair that she fades out in nude tones.
Her proportion is kinda strange to me
oh, how i wish she had just taken the gown as it is. NO MODIFICATIONS. the ribbon, the neckline and the fitted top part of the skirt would have made this look enchanting.
I agree that the gown messes with her proportions, specifically her neck and head.
