Sarah Jessica Parker attended The Weinstein Company VIP Press Event at the Martinez Hotel during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival this evening.
She wore a Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 white embroidered maxi dress.
Whilst it feels like we’ve seen this one before on Jennifer Lawrence, it’s similar but not the same – which is how we feel about nearly every dress worn from this collection.
Usually I’m a fan of SJP’s accessories (minus her crossbody bags of course) but the Lanvin multistrand glass pearl necklace was too much for this look.
The belt was added to prevent this dress from looking like a sack on her petite frame, but the necklace makes this look overly fussy for me.

I’m tired of this collection already, lol.
Me too….hahaha.
i totally agree. Also do not understand how a fashion maven like SJP would not be aware of how many celebs have already worn similar dresses. She used to be much more ahead of others.
Too many details to look at. The pearls just distract me from the lace pattern.
Horrible styling. And I’m really getting bored of seeing this collection on the red carpet, celebs seem to stick to one particular collection as the “IT” collection for red carpet events, they need to discover other collections.
her style is so bad lately
I agree. She seems to have lost her magic…
I like the dress and the belt, but the necklace is overkill.
SJP in bad clothes is like a knife to my heart. She’s so much better than this!
Sidebar- her hair looks really healthy
My first thought was too much necklace, so I completely agree. I do think it’s amusing how she’s been wearing so many cross strap purses and the time she doesn’t the runway model does
I am so so tired of white lace.
Ps -Sarah less is more and burn that dreadful belt
Too overdone I agree, mostly I love SJP’s style, but not here.
Me encanta esta actriz…tienen un estilazo
Muy muy chic
This outfit looks like a frame from the SATC2 movie. It screams Patricia Fields to me…
i don’t like her hair and the necklace
Wow, I really hate the accessories – especially the belt.
Hi, how you get images from getty without mark of -getty.com- on them? I couldn’t not recieve them. Pls help me
I paid for them
She should have followed that sacrosant advice of Coco Chanel and took off something before she left. Sinc ethe belt seems to work, that necklace is nonsense, also because of the embroidered details.
hair + necklace = overly fussy
and I’m starting to get bored, we’ve seen this collection so many times before
Love this dress, but no for the hair and jewels.
It’s all a bit 80s Madonna – the pearls, the belt, the lace. And I say that as a staunch SJP supporter! I know she can do so much better.
I just don’t think it works on her… lace is fussy as it is, so I think it’s best to keep it simple, accessories-wise. I like her hair, I have to say!

Two issues with this look:
-the way OTT necklaces
-the hair
Zara copied it already in cotton!
yuck!
