Its official, Cannes Film Festival has started.
Salma Hayek arrived with Antonio Banderas at the Carlton Beach for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival “Puss In Boots” Photocall.
We should not be surprised that the Latin beauty is wearing Gucci.
She opted to wear a cognac Gucci leather strapless dress with a floral appliqué shrug and the runway purple snake-skin belt from the Fall 2011 collection.
Whilst I love the creativity, I don’t think the shrug was necessary but is does add a fun element to the look.
The actress becomes the first to carry the Gucci 1973 bag which I saw at the Gucci Fall 2011 press day recently.

While I like the dress, I don’t think it is “season” appropriate. I agree with when you say that the shrug wasn’t needed. But she does look good.
Gorgeous! the dress fits her perfectly and the shrug adds whimsy. Starting off with a bang!
I adore this look: it is ultra-feminine and fun. For me the only downside is the bag: I would looooooooooooove owning it but I don’t like its colour agains the red of her outfit.
I’m really not a fan of the shrug. It overwhelms her, and takes a nice sleek look and makes it fussy.

The shrug is amazing but it’s a bit big on her. Was on JLo too… But the dress is great on her! It’s the perfect cut.

Dont know how much I like the shrug, I think she could have given it a miss. Although the twins seem to be in check for a change, how much weight did she lose. I like what I see minus the shrug, lol.
I don’t know maybe I’m the only one, but I like the shrug. It gives the look the drama I expect at Cannes. Sleeked back hair was definitely the right choice.

What happened to the suitcase of Antonio Banderas? Has the airlines lost it somewhere? Or it is OK for men to dress up for Cannes like a construction worker? OMG, some years ago he was one of the sexiest man on Earth!
