me too re: diane kruger! i was thinking the votes were going to be split over so many gorgeous gowns, but the majority seems to be with us (at least so far!)
I thought Shalom Harlow was the best dressed at this event!! I can’t believe that she’s not included in this pole. I, like you, have been waiting to see that spectacular Marchesa on the red carpet and I was so happy that it was finally worn, and accessorized perfectly.
I love your choices – I get so tired of people whose fashion sense seems so geared towards the easiest choices or about making fun of anyone who takes a chance.

i really agree with you..sometimes things get so stupid when people who don’t get fashion, make fun of people who are actually looking really good,for eg..i saw that show ‘fashion police’ oscar coverage when joan rivers ridiculed cate blanchett’s givenchy gown,cate was her worst dressed!maybe the fashion police should come and arrest all such people and make them shut up.
Coming back to the point i think people like FC are a fabulous and refreshing change.

I love Liv’s look until it gets to the yellow ombre – yuck. Sorry, but it looks like she got peed on. SJP looks great but I wish that she had worn a more dramatic McQueen look in his honour. Have to go for Christina, but I know Diane will win!

Okay… somehow I totally missed Christina’s dress until now. Now that is best dressed, hands down! And she actually fit the theme. it’s too late to change my vote, but I had to mention her awesome dress.
Took a bit of thought but my vote went to Karolia…because only her and Christina made me go “woah” and i feel like the Met Gala is all about the “woahs” not just the “oooh pretty”

i think karolina kurkova and christina ricci were the best becouse they got the mcqueen sense of style and they don´t even wore mcqueen… that the sad part for me … i´m a big fan of lee mcqueen and i was so exciting waiting for this event because i really expected to see so much faboulous mcqueen dresses, this was the perfect ocassion to show off his spectacular creations, to step out, to be bold and fearless but most of the people who wore mcqueen went for a “safer” choice with just a few exceptions.
i expected that sarah jessica parker wow us wearing something really bold and stunning like she has done before… she actually looked beautiful like a lot of the guests did, but i really expected a lot more from this event having the alexander mcqueen work as the inspiration, i expected some “savage beauty” in this red carpet…

Between Diane and Gennifer…Gennifer had to get the vote though…I mean it’s a freakin Topshop dress! And the makeup and necklace – to die for!

i loved ashley as well! i wish mary kate would step out of her muumuu rut and join the fun!
The only contenders for me were those on the third row, and inevitably I gave it to Liv Tyler. She looks INCREDIBLE! I love this chang eof direction, and I so wish she’d wear Givenchy more, at least moreso than stella mccartney, she pulls it off so well.
My best-dressed was Gisele but in lieu of her, I’ve gone for Diane Kruger. She looks amazing but still kept it interesting and edgy, which so many forgot!
my favorites were Liv, Diane, and Christina. Liv is just sooo beautiful, and its the first time someone really made that collection work on the red carpet, and it was fitting for the event. Diane looked awesome, but there is some de ja vu about the dressand she could have been braver at this event, the dress is a bit safe, but, still sooo gorgeous, and i would wear that dress in a heartbeat, sadly i doubt it is in my price range! Christina was perfect for this event, she really brings it at the met, my only gripe is that the bottom of the dress weighs her down, otherwise, it was great. I can’t believe some people put her on the worst dressed lists!
Ginnifer was probably my pick for best accessorized, her necklace, makeup, dress, and shoes worked perfectly together, and i really did like her dress, although i’m guessing the topshop designers were very inspired by gucci. her real downfall is that ugly chickens nest she calls hair. I’m not a fan of pixies, but you can do them right, and imo, shes doing it wrong.
i expected more from zoe, obviously she looks amazing, but really, for her, she could give us so much more. by contrast, I applaud karolina’s bravery and wish more had taken a similar approach. i loved sjp & renee’s dresses, but nothing groundbreaking there. emma just looked mumsy to me. i’m not particularly loving her look.
oh, and blake! first off, far tooooo orange to pull off the red hair, and i cannot in any way support her outfit. this is the best karl can come up with for his muse? i really disliked it. what a waste of her body and good looks! but, let me say she is working the HELL out of that bedsheet! but i must repeat what i always think when i see Blake, get a stylist already!!! i am sure a good stylist would still make sure you have a say in what you wear, they will just help you dress in the best way you can!
