I felt a huge sense of de ja vu when I saw Penelope Cruz on the red carpet at the 2011 Met Gala in New York City this evening.
I went back over my archives and realised why.
The black Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011 gown is very similar to the Armani Prive gown she wore to the 2011 Golden Globes.
Penelope’s black silk organza thin strap banded Oscar de la Renta gown with draped detail and mermaid hem was paired with Chopard jewels and a feathered clutch.

even though it is oscar de la renta it is so boring. i mean damn penelope is HOT but she can do so much better than this.
She always wear pretty much the same gown. It’s such a pity because, despite not being ahuge fna of her, I really think she coudl have worn a McQueen Archived piece, maybe even fromteh last colelction of his, looked completely stunning, been a breath of fresh air and had an iconic mometn both in fashion and in her personal fashion life.
Total snooze-fest.

It fits perfectly, and her body looks amazing after baby, but it’s time for a change.

I guess I’m in the minority, but my first thoughts were, “movie star perfection.” This is the best she’s looked since she had the baby. Even if this is reminiscent of the dress she wore in 2010, I think this is an improvement on the earlier dress. Love the hair, too.
Gorgeous gown, but a deja vu for me, it’s like I’ve already seen this on her many times. Also, the dress makes her look without the waist line. The necklace was unnecessary. Without praise or blame.

Yes, I had the same feeling you had, except you could figure what it was and I wasn’t too sure. It’s a beautiful gown, and she looks beautiful too, but it’s boring.
Penelope should quit the tanned look because it just doesn’t suit her. She looks much prettier when she adopts the 1930′s glam look.

She like wearing black sophisticated gowns. I really liked the black velvet halter gown she wore to the 2009 SAGs. But I’m not feeling this one. It looks better on the model.
