Daphne Guinness made a dramatic entrance on the red carpet at the 2011 Met Gala – as expected.
She opted for a feathered Alexander McQueen Spring 2011 frock.
The lilac creation with exaggerated hips was worn with silver Mary Janes. I had hoped she would wear the armadillo shoes from the Spring 2011 collection.
Her statement gown was accessorized with tasseled earrings and styled with her signature blonde and black updo hairstyle.

Wowzers! What a dress! Daphne looks amazing. The dress, the shoes, the hair, and the makeup all look fierce. I think this is one of the few times she has really stood out for me. I gotta admit I love her hair!
Only my Daphne could pull off this look
Love love love it
weird madonna arms :/
I love that she actually made an effort unlike most of the guests but she’s too short for this dress and it appears to swamp her.
I agree…
Daphne does not have the height to pull off this stunning creation but kudos for her for just trying. Even though McQueen’s iconic designs are not for everyone but more women should’ve tried at the Met Gala.
couldn’t she have found a better clutch and shoes? the shoes really spoil this for me.
Thank you, Daphne Guiness for at least trying!!!!
I was SO DISAPPOINTED by the lack of McQueen designs at this event….
Thanks for bringing some drama, some flavour to this event!!!
I feel like this dress is too weird
One of the best dressed, she take a risk and I think it worth it.
The only thing I think I can sum this up with is thank god for Daphne Guiness.
Only Daphne can carry this dress off, maybe she should have worn sky high heels to add more drama….
I’m not sure about this look.
I prayed someone shud wear this.. now im hugely disappointed cos there is no drama.. no attitude.. now no one else would wear this.. I feel sad for the dress
I loved Daphne in the dress! I too had hoped to see some of the amazing armadillo shoes last night, however i suppose with that long line of steps it would near be impossible!
I worship Daphne – She looks AMAZING!
I am not a fan of the dress. But, I respect the workmanship that went into it. I enjoy avant garde looks, and, as far as I’m concerned, she pulled it off.
