I was very happy that Dakota Fanning gave this Valentino Resort 2011 gown an outing at the 2011 Met Gala in New York City last night.
It deserved a red carpet moment, and I was worried that it would never happen as celebs become obsessed with newly presented seasons.
There were many ballgowns at this event, but none fitted the princessy/fairytale vibe more than this one.
I love the multiple floral appliqués on her nude strapless tulle gown.
As always she wore her hair down and opted for a pretty pink lipshade.

beautiful.
I would have loved it if she had worn her hair in a chic updo.
The dress is ok, not really my cup of tea, but ok, but her hair really ruins it. It brings the look, and her beautiful face down. chic updo, maybe a necklace and some mascara could have helped. Even bobbypins would ahve improved it.
I’m so tired about Fanning’s and Valentino… Haven’t they already worn every single dress of the collection?!
I wish she’s done more with her hair and makeup.
same here!
I think if she had worn a top knot or some kind braided updo this would be perfection.
WOW. I think I might have just found my BDOTY!!
I really wish Dakota has done something different with her hair, though. However, the whole look was great. Very youthful.
The hair, the hair! The horror, the horror!
Really, I’m just so sick of celebrities throwing on a stunning creation of a dress and then wearing their hair the same way they do every day… it brings down the dress completely, and sends the message that the celebrity doesn’t CARE about the value and effort and significance of the piece they’re wearing!
:::bows:::
I don’t like the dress. It’s too much dress for her in my opinion.
And, it reminds me of that ugly dress that Michelle Williams wore to the Golden Globes.
I like Dakota,I do. But the child needs to learn to wear some actual makeup. Her face always looks so bare and blotchy. She needs some major brow grooming, face powder, and mascara. The hippie hair is also so done and boring on her. And while I love Valentino this dress looks like it lost a fight with a yard rake.
Dakota was stunning here as always! Dakota Fanning would make a more beautiful model than 99% of the self-described SuperModels.
I love the dress but it should have been worn by a brunette with stronger features like the model (see Ashley Greene wearing nude perfectly). Poor Dakota gets lost in dresses like this. Her makeup and hair don’t help. Her skin tone makes the dress look grubby.
She looks cute, needed a better hairdo…but my eyes are on Bradley Cooper! ahhhh…
I think this is too much of a dress for her
dakota and the dress beautiful, is a princess
