Michelle Obama hosted the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, DC with her husband this weekend.
The First Lady opted to wear a beautiful Halston Fall 2008 gown.
Her coffee coloured gown has been modified slightly as the plunge on her dress isn’t so deep.
Michelle is known for her love of accessorizing with beautiful jewelry – Erickson Beamon and Alexis Bittar are her favourites.
On this occasion I think her Irit Design jewels are overkill. I would’ve preferred this look without them.
The gown is so simple and charming on its own plus the colour is so gorgeous on her, I wish she had let the gown speak for itself.

The dress and necklace are fabulous. One of her best looks so far.
Love Her dress she looks beautiful
The jewels were too much but she looks STUNNING… such a beautiful colour and her hair is so sexy
Yes, I completely agree with you. The dress looks amazing on her, but the jewelry is too much.
~Absolutely Amazing! I Love the Whole Cleopatra look, with the Snake Jewelry~ It is Quite Right!
she is gorgeous in this. i think if she lost the necklace but kept the earrings and bracelet, i’d love all of it
agree
She looks beautiful. I actually love the jewellery.
I do too, Joy. I think they make the look!
The jewelry was fabulous!! Wowee! I want those jewelry pieces right now!
for me with halston the accessories should be kept minimal.
She looked stunning! She probably wore the necklace because she felt she was showing a lot of skin.
Stunning love the dress, the hair, and the necklace. If I could remove one thing, it would be the earrings, which are a bit much next to the necklace.
She looks fabulous and very sexy–the back of this dress also looks amazing on her. I like the draped necklace, but it looks like she is also wearing a choker and I don’t like that–perhaps it is part of the longer necklace–if so, it is kind of overkill
I agree with June – the necklace was one step too far. But overall I think it’s my favorite look of hers ever.
PS: I want that dress!!
i thought she looked stunning… and sexy! she always looks polished and sophisticated but i liked this because it was more fun. i’ll take the extra jewels, she can work em.
I know that some have complained if she doesn’t wear enough jewelry as for events like this she needs to (in some peoples’ eyes) look as glam as the actresses that were invited…so that may explain some of it. She does look great though.
Wow, she looks great – but I too say lose the necklace….
@ FC Did U know last time she wore a beautiful skirt from THE ROW ? yeah… Bye
yes I did know
I think she looks gorgeous. I think she should have worn either the necklace or earrings.
I love her hair here. Gorgeous dress on a beautiful woman.
I love this look minus the necklace!
I don’t like the jewelry, really unnecessary, also not particularly beautiful, most of all the necklace.
The jewels are not too much! She looked beautiful. The dress worn in the photo by the model with the not really done hair and bony shoulders looks awful, like she’s wearing a prison frock.
OMG FC, I love the necklace! I want one.
Without the jewelery, it would’ve been boring. Ms. Obama looks great as always!
Lovely. Her hair looks great – I like her willingness to change it around – and I even like the jewellery, since it’s such a trademark for her.
