Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Lily Allen was one of the many famous faces who attended Chanel’s Fall 2011 presentation during Paris Fashion Week back in March.

There to support one of her favourite labels, the singer told the press on her way in “I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress.”

Sitting front row, Lily wore a gorgeous modified emerald green Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 tweed coat.

She paired the coat with a LBD, Ray-Ban sunglasses, tights and black shoes but added some excitement with one killer accessory; an extremely covetable, bright red quilted Chanel bag.

Lily styled her hair into a super chic up-do and topped it off with lipstick to match her lovely bag.

Sarah Jessica Parker chose the runway version of the same coat to wear to the opening night of “Catch Me If You Can” on Broadway.

The actress styled her look completely differently to Lily, opting to wear it with a graphic black and white Oscar de la Renta cap sleeve sheath dress.

SJP added a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Luxura’ ankle strap heels, a bronze studded cuff and diamond earrings as accessories.

Loose wavy hair and smoky eyes completed her look.

My vote is going to Lily because I think she looks incredibly sophisticated and pulls her entire look together perfectly. I love that Lily focused on two amazing pieces (the coat and purse) and kept everything else in black.

I appreciate SJP’s efforts to mix and match textures, prints and colours but I think there is a little too much going on and her eye makeup is too heavy for my taste.

For Hollywood’s hottest, clearly red is the new blond.

First Khloe Kardashian (for two whole days). Now Blake Lively.

Or perhaps we should attribute it to Drew Barrymore and Mandy Moore.

Long gone is the notion that flaxen strands are sexiest. And we must admit—we’re elated.

Tinseltown’s top trendsetters are finally toying with their tresses and rocking inflamed locks that command attention. (Even if they are just going red for a role.)

We predicted the flaming tress trend last September during NYFW while backstage at Mulberry Spring 2011 presentation, where we watched Sam McKnight fit fifteen models in fierce fiery fringed wigs.

Our theory was validated backstage in Paris where Guido Palau hand-picked a select few models to don cropped copper toppers at Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011. (Sadly the catwalk versions of crimson manes are much bolder and brighter that what we see on red carpets!)

Starting to see red?

Know this—red fades much faster than any other hue.

To keep your look ablaze, invest in colour-depositing shampoos and conditioners that will prolong the vibrancy of your colour. Those of us in-the-know trust these two collections:

Whilst most of us are packing way our winter clothes, Ashley Olsen is still working a Fall 2010 trend which was an oversized sweater over a maxi skirt.

This trend was spotted on the Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors Fall 2010 runways, plus Dries van Noten did a short sleeved version of this look.

The Olsen twins are notorious for shielding themselves away from the paparazzi, so this is a rare carefree shot of the designer as she heads off to a meeting in New York City on Tuesday.

Her beige sweater and mint maxi skirt were paired with Chanel accessories including a string of pearls, a quilted blue bag and two tone ballet flats.

Before Kate Hudson announced to the world during her press junket, that she was engaged to her beau Matthew Bellamy, she was spotted headed to her hotel in New York City wearing an Etro Spring 2011 dress.

The yellow printed dress scarf dress was paired with a beige Stella McCartney blazer and purple Christian Louboutin peep-toes.

Cynics will say that the timing the announcement of her engagement comes at a perfect time to promote her new movie, “Something Borrowed.”

Romantics will say that he should’ve proposed when she announced she was pregnant.

Lauren Conrad didn’t quite set the red carpet alight at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Party in LA last night.

Whilst I give her points for wearing a look from her own Paper Crown line – unlike former The Hills co-star Whitney Port – Lauren looked the same as she does everyday dodging the paparazzi and running errands.

She represented her collection wearing a beige silk blouse paired with a cute flared navy skirt.

Nude Christian Louboutin’s and a beige Chanel bag completed her look.

I do love the top knot and the red lippie.

The Paper Crown collection is the best so far from Lauren. I have to admit I love every piece from this wearable collection.

The collection includes faux-leather shorts, maxi skirts, chiffon dresses, blazers and sweater at prices from $69 to $400.

Natalia Vodianova was a beautiful vision of loveliness at the Moscow Exhibit Explores Dior’s Heritage event in Russia this week.

The Russian beauty opted for a stunning Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2010 gown.

Her long sleeve lace berry gown with a key-hole detail was – as always – teamed with flawless barely-there make-up and a gold clutch.

The gown is simple in its design, but on Natalia it’s simply breath-taking.
