Last week I took a close look at the Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2011 collection at a Press Preview which was held in London.

After seeing the collection on the runway during Milan Fashion Week, I was eager to see the accessories up close.

What I hadn’t spotted during the presentation is that the heels have a hounds-tooth sole which I thought was really clever way to brand the shoe collection.

An interesting fact I learned from this press preview is that Salvatore Ferragamo created his now trademark heels for Marilyn Monroe in the 50s. She owned around 40 pairs. It was these heels which help perfect her sexy wiggle.

Celebrities are huge fans of Ferragamo, especially the bags and shoes.

Angelina Jolie seems to wear Ferragamo shoes exclusively. Other fans include Freida Pinto and Eva Longoria.

The Ferragamo minaudière’s are equally popular. I can see the two in the picture below being carried on the red carpet during Cannes Film Festival next month.

The most interesting piece from this preview was the leather shoulder bag which had ostrich, snake-skin, python and crocodile pockets with gold clasps.

Other highlights include the animal print pieces and the fine jewelery.

Jaimie Alexander looked utterly breath-taking on the red carpet for the World Premiere of “Thor,” at the Event Cinemas in Sydney, Australia yesterday.

Whilst the press were going crazy for Chris Hemsworth who was returning home to promote this movie, I was dazzled by the raven haired beauty and those stunning Swarovski crystals.

Jaimie wore a gown by Italian designer Mirco Giovannini.

The cream silk knit tuxedo gown with Swarovski crystal neckline was styled with a sleek updo and black sandals.

It’s refreshing to see something this unique on the red carpet.

I have been waiting for a look from the Stéphane Rolland Spring 2011 Couture collection to be showcased on the red carpet ever since I attended the show back in January.

My wait is finally over as Miriam Yeung attended the 2011 Hong Kong Film Awards last night wearing an amazing sculptural gown.

I surprised at how this gown with a gold detail on the hip doesn’t appear to overwhelm her. She totally owns it and looks very comfortable.

Whilst I’m happy to see this look on the red carpet, I’m sad that this now mean there’s less chance of Cate or Tilda wearing it.

Thankfully there are many more amazing pieces from this collection for them to choose from. Read more…

Jessica Alba was spotted at LAX wearing All Saints workman type boots, and Dakota Fanning wore an AllSaints Yossi cape with Prada animal print sandals whilst leaving LAX.
