French pop singer Shy’m attended the NRJ Awards in Cannes back in January, looking stunning in this black architectural Basil Soda gown.
She let the gown do most of the talking with the rest of the focus being on her towering hairdo.
Some bracelets or a cocktail ring would have been a welcome addition, but since she looks so glamorous I’m willing to let that part go.
Shy’m must know how amazing she looks since she is seriously working it on the red carpet. It’s hard to find fault with this.
Michelle Rodriguez surprised us all by stepping out in the same dress for her “Battle: Los Angeles” LA Premiere
Usually favouring a more casual look on the red carpet, this was a huge step up for the actress, but it certainly wasn’t perfect.
Her necklace is too fussy for a dress with an asymmetrical neckline. Even though her hair looks gorgeous, I would have loved to see it pulled back to really let her beauty (and the gown) shine.
Michelle gets points for stepping out of her comfort zone and trying something new but the details – including a basic black clutch – are just all wrong.
Shy’m on the other hand gets it right by directing most of the attention to the dress and her hair. She owns the look and knows it.
Shy’m wins for me.

never heard of shy’m before this but wow…that look makes all the right impressions
You must listen to her songs! She’s amazing!
I have to admit that I prefer this look on Michelle. As much as I adore the dress on Shy’m, I still think – and don’t ask me why – that Michelle looks better with it. I kind of love the necklace and the hair.
i actually really like the necklace michelle’s wearing — i just wish she’d pulled back her hair so the necklace, giant architectural sleeve and her hair weren’t all competing for attention at the same time.
wow how times have changed
i remember back in 08 when you first started
every time you featured michelle it went something like ‘hate the dress, hate the shoes… hate her’
but yeah she definetely stepped it up
The necklace wasn’t needed. That’s alot of dress, and it didn’t need accessorizing.
I like Shy’m.
And how exactly is that name pronounced?
shy’m est jolie!)))
