Helen Mirren In Dolce & Gabbana – “Arthur” London Premiere

The “Arthur” London Premiere took place tonight at the Cineworld 02 Arena.

As you know I’m a sucker for animal print and Dame Helen Mirren, so I’m totally in love with her look.

The Grand Dame wore a Dolce & Gabbana animal print strapless maxi dress which was perfect for a sunny day in the capital.

Her biker leather jacket which also has an animal print lining was a fun addition to her look.

Without a hint of try hard, Helen oozes sophistication no matter what she wears.

A black clutch, a safety pin necklace and diamond earrings completed her look.

This is definitely a BDOTW contender.

ITA this is already a BDOTW contender for me. Only Helen could take a youthful edgy look like this and make it look totally age appropriate. I love the leopard gown paired with the little leather jacket. It’s glamour, elegance.and Rock&roll all wrapped into one.

  2. Anna April 19, 2011 at 21:08 #

WOW she looks so cool and fabulous!! Def BDOTW worthy – I want to look that cool now at 34 never mind at her age!! :)

  3. anne April 19, 2011 at 21:16 #

Fantasctic how she can give us so many different looks and never fail. Unlike other animal print lovers like Sharon Stone, Helen actually makes it work. I think most women her age wouldn’t have even thought of trying this on but i’m so glad she did cause to me it’s a risk that paid off! I m getting really excited to see what she wears next!

  7. Samantha April 19, 2011 at 21:40 #

Wow, I am amazed! I haven’t felt this way about a look in a while. This is such a risk to take, yet it totally works. She looks sexy and cool. I can’t imagine anyone beating her this week! Beautiful.

  8. Lina April 19, 2011 at 21:41 #

Ah, I hope I will dare to try looks like this when I’m 65. She’s never predictable but never tries to hard either.

  9. Brooke April 19, 2011 at 21:43 #

    She’s giving me goosebumps. BDOTW!

  10. dee April 19, 2011 at 21:54 #

This is why she is one of my favorites on the red carpet. She looks so cool and classy and chic. I love it. BDOTW.

  11. Tati M April 19, 2011 at 21:56 #

Does she think she is 30 years old? I didn’t like it

    • xoxo avs April 21, 2011 at 12:28 #

i totally agree! how does this say sophisticated for a 65 year old woman? if my nan ever considered wearing a biker jacket, well..
this is a LOVELY look for someone 40 years younger.

  12. Sharon April 19, 2011 at 22:00 #

    Perfect! BDOTW for sure.

  13. perfumeorpoison April 19, 2011 at 22:01 #

wow she is unpredictable.. and adventuruous with fashion! she looks amazing!

  14. Hannah April 19, 2011 at 22:06 #

She is the one and only person who could ahve any hope ata ll in pulling this off. It is clearl y a reflection of Russell Brand being in the movie, and i love her sense of humour, and also the fact that sh estill looks graceful whilst showing it.

  15. Lou April 19, 2011 at 22:11 #

I adore the great Dame. I would be a happy person if I could end up looking like her and having her attitude. But – I wish there was also a picture of the dress sans jacket. I’m a total sucker for animal print so it’s a shame to cover it up.

  16. Jen April 19, 2011 at 22:14 #

This is what I want to be when I grow up. She’s amazing. I LOVE the safety pin necklace. and her hair color and her makeup and the fit of the dress .. she’s perfect.

  17. Mario April 19, 2011 at 22:46 #

Okay you should seriously see my mouth right now. I won’t be able to close it anytime soon. 65. Dolce. Leopard. Leather. Oh.My.God.
And she looks so good that I can’t even describe it.

  18. Lee Ann April 19, 2011 at 22:50 #

Sorry but this look is just wrong . It is not elegant . It is not edgy . It just looks crass. The hair isn’t helping. She looks like she should be working in a laundermat and named Madge.

  19. Victor April 19, 2011 at 22:52 #

    BDOTY!!!!

  20. Rebecca April 19, 2011 at 22:55 #

What a Babe! I love the dress, but don’t really love the jacket, tho she does pull it off. She is a stunner

  21. mol April 19, 2011 at 23:22 #

Rock on Dame Helen – love this so much!

  22. Kaz April 20, 2011 at 01:05 #

Love! It’s going to take something amazing to top this for BDOTW.

  23. Carol April 20, 2011 at 01:53 #

Helen is so authentic! I love her!
    BDOTW!!!

  24. Hisadora April 20, 2011 at 01:54 #

She looks SO COOL and at the same time chic and sophisticated!!! I love this look.

  25. Kelly April 20, 2011 at 03:55 #

She looks hot! Only Helen could pull this off with ease. I love those earrings. Definately BDOTW

  26. KateS April 20, 2011 at 04:02 #

LOVE! Chic but with a sense of humour (tee hee re: safety pin) – classic Helen.

Obviously she doesn’t like to expose her upper arms, and I’m always impressed by how many ways she finds to cover them. This is much better than a boring wrap.

    • CreoleLady April 20, 2011 at 09:52 #

Great point about covering her upper arms. I was thinking that I might prefer the look without the jacket but when I read your comment, I changed my mind. Ain’t no one like a Dame…!

  27. Chelsea April 20, 2011 at 04:10 #

This look is all about the attitude. Yes, the outfit is perfection, but she is looking at the camera like, “Yes, I look damn good.” Can’t beat the confidence.

  28. mochababe73 April 20, 2011 at 04:33 #

I’m in my 30s, and I want this entire look.
    I bow down.
    There are no words.

  29. Gaber April 20, 2011 at 07:17 #

Between this and Li Yuchun’s Gaultier – this has been a nice week for surprising red carpet choices.

  30. Nits April 20, 2011 at 07:18 #

She is a rockstar! I hope i look like her at that age. Her or Judi Dench :)

  31. Alina April 20, 2011 at 08:15 #

I like the look but I don’t think it’s BDOTW contender.

  32. Mo April 20, 2011 at 08:53 #

When I grow up….. ! She looks great!

  33. Rach April 20, 2011 at 09:03 #

She looks fantastic. I can’t remember the last time Dame Helen looked BAD on the red carpet; this is definitely a recent highlight!

  36. Jones19 April 20, 2011 at 19:35 #

    It’s a little too young for her I think,…

  37. Caitlin April 20, 2011 at 22:41 #

Dame Helen is def a role model for younger starlets to aspire to. She always has the style and grace for the red carpet, and yet always manages to keep her look youthful. Props to her!

  38. DivaMom April 21, 2011 at 16:42 #

She’s a HOT GIRL!!! Get it, Helen!
