Diane Kruger remains a firm favourite on the red carpet for her seemingly endless ability to be a sartorial genius.
Her style choices are effortlessly cool – not to mention brave, and this showed at a Vogue Paris party held in honour of Gucci designer Frida Giannini back in January.
Choosing one of the standout looks from the tribal-inspired Spring 2011 collection, the actress simply exudes glamour and sophistication.
Teaming her elaborate ensemble with matching black and gold accessories, smoky eyes and an intricate knotted hairstyle, her look is pure perfection.
Spanish actress and model Mar Saura took to the red carpet earlier this month at the 14th Málaga Film Festival in the same exquisite dress.
The stunning beauty is seriously giving Diane a run for her money, pairing her look with a matching black and gold clutch and the same Gucci Malika strappy sandals shown with the dress on the runway.
I adore her pulled back hairstyle and flawless makeup, especially her choice of lip colour, as it really adds to the exotic and sexy vibe of the dress.
It’s incredibly hard to pick between these two since they both look so beautiful.
Diane scores points for mixing up her accessories and not wearing the look straight from the runway, but Mar has the edge in the makeup and hair department, since both are so well-suited to the dress.
In the end though, my vote goes to Diane.
She has such a natural ease and elegance on the red carpet that it’s incredibly hard to compete with and as always she makes every look her own.

I hate Mar Saura’s makeup. My vote goes to Diane.
Diane Kruger for sure, looks more elegant on her!
I prefer how it suits higher up on Diane, like it does on the model. Mar’s body is too long for it so it looks like it’s falling down.
I have no idea who Mar Saura is but she sure is stunning. It’s a tough choice, both ladies look fantastic but I have to give it to Diane for being more original.
This dress is beautiful to look at, but don’t look good on both because it accentuate to much the hips zone. Even Diana who is a very skinny person seem to have a wide hips.
It’s really hard to compete with Diane because she’s so self-assured when it comes to her style. She always makes it her own, which is why she’s one of my absolute favorite on the red carpet. That said, I also love Mar Saura in this look.
The dress is ugly. So neither one looks good in it to me.
I don’t like the dress. On Mar it looks like an embellished apron. On Diane it looks like armored plating.
Amen to Dee and Moxie. That dress is heinous. What were the designers at Gucci thinking? What was the stylist who put these women in that atrocity thinking?
Because Mar appears to be taller, I think that it looks better on her.
The dress is not figure flattering on either woman to be perfectly honest.
