Yesterday I was honoured to be one of the few people invited to the Alexander McQueen Fall 2011 preview at their Bond Street store in London.
During my one-to-one I got to see the current Spring and Resort collection; spying many celebrity red carpet looks including Blake Lively’s amfAR New York Gala dress, Mila Kunis’ SAG Awards dress and Rachel Zoe’s Alexander McQueen folk tote.

The majority of the collection was on display with a beautiful mix of powerful pieces ranging from black vixens pieces accented with leather harnesses to snow white fur trimmed pieces.
Despite some of the hard edge to some of the pieces, I love the fairy-tale spirit.
McQueen was very specific about the type of celebrity who would wear his creations on the red carpet, and that will continue.
Noomi Rapace, Cate Blanchett and Anna Paquin are all fans of the brand. They have a mysterious aura about them which enables them to carry the pieces so well on the red carpet.
I can see them all wearing this collection, which also includes a few Cannes worthy gowns.
Seeing the collection up close was breath-taking because the attention to detail is incredible. It gave me an even greater appreciation of the collection and the hours which go into creating such iconic pieces.

The accessories include the runway shoes which will be going into production with the exclusion of the heel with the spike.
Skulls continue to be the signature feature on the bags and clutches. I love the skull above with the spiked Mohican.

This is like a little chunk of heaven! It is classic McQueen. So rock&roll,so glamorous. I adore it all.

Wow… u must feel incredible to see all this up close..Its an amazing colelction.. i love that clutch in ur first pic.. which is ur fav?
The clutch and white fur trimmed jacket…
those shoes are EVERYTHING; I’m sure they look that much better in person!
They are everything and more…
The pics are phenomenal. I know this was such a treat. I am just outdone on the amazing details
thank you…Nikon SLR
The pictures of the dresses are beautiful – the shadows and light give them a mysterious glow, very enchanting….love the detail pictures as well.
Mcqueen and Balenciaga are my fave brands, this look very beautiful and handmade. For me McQueen is so more couture than brands who actually have couture shows.
” the runway shoes which will be going into production with the exclusion of the heel with the spike.” – This is such a shame I am pretty sure it will be a massive sucess.
I love the gothic feel of this collection. The accessories especially are divine.
You lucky thing! thank you for making a tough week just a bit better
I was an amazing experience. I do feel very lucky.
glad I could put a smile on your face x
If you took the picture on the clutch on the top with the front out of focus then you might want to pat yourself on the back for some good photography skills.
(No sarcasm, so don’t worry. Hah. Love the shot)
Yes I took all of them.
Thanks for that compliment because I just recently completed a photography course x
