Look We Love: Dita Von Teese’s 40s Style Face

Loyalty is not a characteristic we’d typically associate with any Hollywood starlet, but Dita Von Teese very well may be the exception. Best known for her retro sense of style, her virtually microscopic 16-inch corseted waist, and her cheeky burlesque routines, this model-actress may no longer be married to goth rocker Marilyn Manson, but she is, however, married to her makeup. (And has been for the past 20+ years!)

On the red carpet or off to run personal errands, Von Teese is unwavering when it comes to primping her exquisite face. Porcelain skin paired with fluffy lashes and a sharp scarlet smile makes for one modern-vintage look. The key to mastering Dita’s pin-up bombshell face? These three words: All matte everything. (Translation: Not a slick of shine anywhere!) Learn more of her tips and tricks in her new DIY-beauty book, scheduled to be released later this year.

Fashion Critic, do you happen to know what shade of lipstick is used for Monica Bellucci’s Dior lipstick ad? My mom’s been dying to know the shade and I can’t find it anywhere. I was hoping to buy it for Mother’s Day as a surprise.

I just love how flawless and put together she always looks, without ever looking like she’s trying too hard!

I never know how to wear red lipstick. I would take the make up tips, but stick to my own personal style.

Wear them with lots of mascara and a sly smile. Anything else could be overkill…

Thanks! This is one of my favorite red lipsticks. It’s a true red that works on all complexions, and it’s very hydrating without being shiny.

I would buy her book, I am interested to see how she achieves such a beautiful, high-maintenance look so flawlessly.
I wonder if she will ever bring out her own make-up line and / or perfume? They would sell so well, I’m sure.

I’m surprised she’s has had at least a perfume out by now. I’m sure it must be in the works.

If she’s never had a makeup line it’s probably because she’s been a spokesperson for MAC, but, I could have sworn she used to have products on her website! makeup and I think stockings as well, but now all I see is hair products
