I’ve been having a hard time finding many positives with any of Vanessa Hudgens’ looks on the red carpet recently, but that changed last night at the Conde Nast Traveler Annual Hot List Party.
Vanessa wore a sexy white lame Mimi Plange suit with a black top underneath.
Thankfully not taking any cues from Ms. Longoria to go sans shirt.
Her suit was paired with Casadei sparking silver chained heels, to prove that the footwear designer creates heels other than those triple stacked heels which Rachel Zoe and Co. love so much.
During her Disney days Vanessa was so adorable, but her transition to an adult on the red carpet hasn’t been so smooth IMO.
She’s clearly still experimenting until she finds her ‘look’, because she’s not as sweet as our beloved Alexis Bledel, she’s not a chameleon like Leighton Meester and she’s not a maverick like Chloe Sevigny.
I’m confident she will find her feet but in the meantime, this is the first time in a long-time she gets the thumbs up from me.
Today we have a white suit mini trend, as Robin Wright also wore a white suit on the red carpet last night.

She looks like a poor mans Mila Kunis.
Especially considering Mila wore (and looked better) a white suit a few months ago.

I love everything you said tbh and I agree with everything, I believe she’s still trying to figure out her signature style right now, and what suits her the most and I love her for being so brave about it. Not just depending on her stylist to get looks right every single time. And I do believe she’s gonna hopefully find it soon, but at the mean time, she’s still young and experimenting, people should cut her some slack (:
Anyways, I love this look, and I adore her heels thank god she didn’t go for the boring black pumps option! I also love the light makeup.
I liked the idea, but not the execution. I really am put off by the hair, th ehighlights are too light and too chunky. The fit of the suit is veyr awry, the button looks very pulled, and the fabric is painful to look at, especially with the juxtaposition of the huge white button. I also love the shoes, but not with a suit, especially this one, the colours nad textures are too harsh together. I do love the much mro enatural makeup though. I think that had she worn a crisp white cotton or a similar fabric suit, with her hair either pulled into a slick ponytail or without highlights, and had delicate silver sandals, I would ahve been in love. I also love the top underneath.
Why did she put those awful extensions back on? They overwhelm her so bad.
I’m not a fan of the white suit on her either. The fabric is too shiny.

Though I wish she kept her regular hair and didn’t go with the extensions. But your commentary is right on how I feel about Vanessa. I adore her genuinely, but there are times when her red carpet looks is not what I’m expecting from her. But this suit gave me hope that she will find her niche in style.

Too shiny, although at least it’s the right size. I agree that she’s still finding her feet style-wise, but I do have hope that she’ll get there. I’m not understanding this obsession the hollywood teens have with ratty extensions at all, though.
I have to disagree with everyone. I think this is one of her worst looks ever! The suit’s fabric is very ugly, the shoes don’t match with it and the extensions are terrible.
Dear Vanessa, please find a stylist who has your best interests at heart. Or is at least consistent. xxx

White lame is a pet peeve of mine but she pulls this off nicely.
Not sure if it’s the teen to adult transition, more the fashion wobbliness after a break up.
Some people’s style drops when they get into a relationship and for others it’s when they get out of it.
This is the first time in a while she’s looked good although, this still isn’t as good as she has looked in the past. It will be interesting to see how long this will go on and what will bring her back – if she does come back.
