The past few weeks have been sort of like a welcome back to the red carpet for Juan Carlos Obando.
His gorgeous designs have made their way onto the well toned bodies of many celebs lately, and we can’t help but take notice.
Michelle Monaghan and Rose McGowan have both recently worn the designers vibrantly hued dresses whilst attending events.
The watercolour of Michele’s dressed stood out against her skin and complimented her dark hair, whilst Rose’s plunging neckline and flared skirt infused sex appeal while maintaining feminine appeal.
Jena Malone has worn Juan Carlos Obando on two separate occasions whilst promoting her latest movie “Sucker Punch.”
Her independent spirit fits in perfectly with the Juan Carlos design aesthetic; to seduce while evoking confidence and inspiration.
There’s a laid-back but polished appeal to his designs, that make it perfect for independent and big name premieres.
Juan’s hand-dyed and brightly coloured fabrics fit in perfectly with the bold colour pops that are on trend for Spring 2011. I can’t wait to see who’ll be next to wear one of his designs.
The LA based line is carried in numerous major department stores including Barneys New York.

I think the appeal of these dresses is their feminine yet modern feel. It’s a nice break from all the lace and ruffles you usually get on the red carpet. And the colors are just so gorgeous.
That long pink mess Jenna wore continues to be one of the ugliest things I have seen all year. Just hideous.
*high five*
Whilst Juan Carlos Obando pieces are cute, they are not terribly original. They remind me of Christian Siriano’s collection.
I think Juan has been designing a lot longer than Christian
I do love the marbled colours from the recent collection, but that long pink skirt/bustier combo still gives me hives.
i love these dresses, above all the blue one
