Olivia Palermo attended The Cinema Society screening of “Henry’s Crime” at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema in New York City yesterday.
She’s the first celebrity to wear a look from the Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 collection, which was one of my favourites of the season.
Her gorgeous dress has 4 elements; a white sleeveless top with a black bejewelled waistband and red fur trim plus a printed skirt.
We’re often saying that celebrities should step out of their comfort-zone and do something different, and it looks like Olivia took our advice yesterday.
She arrived at this event sporting a puffy bouffant which instantly reminded me of Simba from ‘The Lion King.’
Nice try Olivia, but with so much detail on your lovely dress a sleeker, less fussy hairstyle would’ve worked better with your look on this occasion.
Jimmy Choo ‘Feline’ sandals and a black clutch completed her look.

I LOVE this look!!! But the hair is a HUGE miss!!!
DAMN! This hair hurts this look. It could have been nominee
Funny. I don’t mind the hair as it has a 60′s vibe to it. I almost would kill for this dress EXCEPT I really don’t like the red fur trim-looks like she is wearing an inner tube.
This looks like an embellished garbage bag on her.
When you have a dress that removes any resemblance of a shape from you, the fit needs to be perfect.
And here, it’s not.
Beautiful dress, unflattering hair. I prefer the longer length of the skirt but the dress looks a bit overwhelming on her.
The hair looks strange…”a puffy bouffant which instantly reminded me of Simba from ‘The Lion King.”- LOL
Maybe I’m just grumpy today, but I despise this dress on both the model and Olivia. Red fur? Flowers? Who cares about the hair? The dress is hair-ific.
lol @ hair-ific
I do love a play on words
That was the first thing that I thought was that I didn’t like the puffy hair. That’s saying alot from a Texas gal.
For some reason, I am liking the dress better on the model than on Olivia. Her top looks as though it may be too big.
Without the hair for me this is a BTOTW winner… Bold, different and not boring.
Her hair looks a mess. Love the dress.
I like the mod feel about it.. Make the top a dress by extendng the white part and the hair totally fits it. Shoe choice was a plus too. Just enough to not be black pumps, and not enough to fight with the rest of the details.
wrong size and wrong hair
this looks like a hot mess to me.
I only like the skirt and shoes.
that dress doesnt have any shape at all and hair looks sad..
since she is more petite than the model they should have made the red trim smaller. I think that could have worked. I don’t really mind the hair as much as others, at least it’s combed….
she looks crazy. not sophisticated — and it seriously ages her.
I thought it was a handwarmer … like NFL quarterbacks wear in cold weather or those fuzzy tubes from the 60-70′s … but, I was wrong. So distracting that I didn’t even notice her poufy hair! I see a lot of possitive remarks, but for me, the red fuzz band ruins the dress.
The first thing that grabbed my attention was the big hair, followed closely by the red fur. On second look, I decided I really like the black and white parts of the dress, but the fur not so much. I think without the fur, I’d like the hair.
Interesting……The model didn’t do justice to the outfit neither did Olivia. This looks like one of those dress you don’t wear exactly the same way as presented on the runway.
I love it
I think she’s too sophisticated for the mainstream to get it, honestly
*sad*
I didnt think much could stop Miss Palermo from always looking impeccable and tiny. Red fur around your waist – thats going to do it.
Makes me think of an inflatable swiming rubber ring!
Terrible from head to ankles. I only save the shoes. A big miss.
She look kinda crazy – Wow… do not expect this from her.
I don’t think I could ever have anything positive to say about a look that includes red fur – cue muppet-skinning jokes etc.
