Blake got it right on the red carpet for the 2011 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards, where she was awarded ‘Breakthrough Performer Of The Year.’
On this occasion I looove her Brian Atwood ‘Helena’ shoes, as they work perfectly with her Marchesa dress.
The “Gossip Girl” becomes the first person to wear a look from the Marchesa Fall 2011 collection.
Her embroidered red silk organza illusion cap sleeve dress with tulle ruffle skirt also has an open back.
On this occasion she appears to be having more fun with fashion, but I don’t think this look will be everyone’s cup of Earl Grey.
I much prefer it to the Dolce & Gabbana look. This look is fun, flirty and optimizes Blake personality.

Stunning! She always looks like she just woke up and tied her hair back and stepped out the front door onto the red carpet, but it always looks great!

Finally, she got some shoes is not Louboution, and surprisingly she got a right choice of her shoes . But her clothe, make-up, hairstyle and jewellery are just as horrible as her skin. The Marchesa is a nightmare. And Blake’s special ability just makes it looks cheaper, which i think it is exactly why Anna Wintour picks up her as a new It girl.
I agree, Sisi. This is one horrible dress that does absolutely NOTHING to flatter her figure. It actually makes her look very thick in the middle. What’s with all the BDOTW stuff?
I think she needs a stylist ASAP. She just got the whole concept of stylist wrong. Even a stylist picks up clothes for a client, but the client is still the one decide what she/he gets to wear. This is nothing about who interpret who. She lacks of ability to play with fashion when it comes to red carpet. She looks good in casual clothes. Her normal pattern is a dress+loubuotin +Lorraine Schwartz. And the whole look is usually straight from runway, includes the marchesa and D&G look.
I like it, but she always wears dresses like this. Theres only so many times you can wear a Marchesa mini without it looking like a repeat. This bores me. And she needs a new hairstyle.

I thought Blake’s style would evolve but it’s has been pretty stagnant. Her Marchesa pick isn’t surprising anymore, maybe it’s time she hires a stylist now!
Loved the shoes, but not the dress – it looks great on the model but on Blake somehow the proportions have shifted (through the hips/waist/ribcage – it’s shorter and poorly defined unlike on the model). I still like her though even when she doesn’t get it 100 % right, such a killer smile.

My thoughts exactly. She just can’t pull off quirky or interesting designs, if she stuck to clean minimalist looks and let her body do the talking she’d be fine. She looks ridiculous and I’m mad because I absolutely adore this collection.
It’s way to short and makes the ruffle look like a non-matching carpet that she forgot to wax.

I like the fit and length on the model better. Did Blake shorten the dress? Something about the fit in the torso/waist is off. Too bad because that dress should look sensational on her yet instead merely looks OK to me.

I think the dress is slightly hiked up on Blake–and pulled down on the model–that’s why it looks funny around her bust–it just needs to be pulled down so it lies flat on her body. It is as if she was sitting, got up and the dress stayed in the seated position.
i saw another pic of her in this and it looks to me that it was shortened…maybe to show off her legs better
i have been saving this dress for blake in my head since i laid eyes on it, and this is a huge disappointment, the bust and shoulders are weird and she made it shorter because god forbid her legs should be covered, the shoes are amazing though so i don’t hate the look
I do think Blake plays so much with her style and I love that, but its either a hit or miss for me. I wish she had better hair styles. I love the shoes though, and I like the dress…but from the picture….it doesn’t translate well for me. Doesn’t look all that great.

The dress looks far better on the model, the ruffled part sits on Blake’s hips making her appear wider than she is. LOVE those shoes.
Agree. the dress does not look good on her, maybe in someone who is more slender, tall or short, it doesn’t matter, less wide in the shoulders. Her figure looks bad in it.

Marchesa and Blake lively are a perfect pairing, both favor an utterly predictable aesthetic.
While the dress is quite nice on the model, and it ought to have transferred well enough to Blake, but her modifications render it a bizarre mess. She’s clearly had it shortened, because covering up an extra inch or two of her legs is unthinkable, and the result is horrible proportions up top. She’s showing off her precious legs, but she’s made her top half look short and stout.
The shoes are great, though not necessarily with this dress, and good god that’s a horrible gash on her ankle, I don’t even want to think of the kind of horrendous shaving accident that could have caused it (guess not all celebs wax).
Urghhhhhhhhhh just terrible. She has no style or personality. This is officially proof that it’s not the clothes, it’s her.
I find blake SOOOOOO frustrating, she always jsut screws it up, jsut a tiny little it. THe hair, for once, thank god, is nice (enough, it is at least brushed), the shoes are gorgeous, and the jewellery is beautiful, but the dress is all wrong IMO. Firstly I think you need to be tall, skinyn and much less curvy, aka flat chested and with almost no hips, to wear this dress. I also am in genuine belief that she shortened it, it is WAY higher than the model, especially at the back. I also hated the back, it just looked wrong to me. I think the details are also much less fine, much less delicat,e whch I think is due to the shortening of the dress.
I think if Blake had been less eager to show off ehr legs, which she always is, this woudl ahve looked a LOT better. I also don;t think the pose works for this kind of dress, and I also think that aswell as eagerness ot shwo off her boobs and legs we are now seeing her back more and more frequently.
On a side, I hope whatever cut/wound is happening on her leg is ok, and that she gets better from it soon!
I know Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld loves her but I don’t get what’s the hype about Blake. Don’t get me wrong, she’s gorgeous but I definitely wouldn’t consider her a fashion icon nor a red carpet queen/princess. I honestly have never been blown away by Blake. I don’t know why but there is always something missing or something’s off. I would actually pick Olivia Wilde or Camilla Belle than Blake.
On this dress, again, there’s something wrong. Maybe because she looks like an ice dancer? And I can see the dress, but I can”t see Blake. I hate it when that happens. I think it’s important for these actresses to understand that it may be really good to wear clothes that stand out, but it’s THEM that should be noticed.
