Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: March 2011

The surprising thing about this edition of WWIB? is that Teresa Palmer wore this Jonathan Saunders Spring 2011 dress first.

Usually that honour would go to someone like Thandie Newton who wore the same dress a few months later.

Teresa attended the 2010 GQ “Men of the Year” Party at the Chateau Marmont in LA back in November.

The new kid on the block wore her grey and turquoise printed dress, which was accented with a black grosgrain belt, with a black clutch and black pumps which disappear into the black carpet.

Thandie also opted to carry a black clutch when she attended InStyle’s Best of British Talent BAFTA party at Shoreditch House in London late January.

Despite not being a fan of white heels, I much prefer them to Teresa black heels, so Thandie easily wins for me. Plus this type of look is typically Thandie and she totally owns the look.

Dame Helen Mirren was honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood yesterday.

The evergreen 65 year old British actress never gets her look wrong on the red carpet.

She doesn’t get it wrong off the red carpet either, if you remember those fabulous pictures of her in a red bikini 2 years ago.

On this occasion she opted for a chic navy blue Lanvin twill robe dress from the Spring 2011 collection. It looks just as fabulous on her, as it does on Anja.

I love the side zipper. Sometimes they can bring down a look, but it works on this occasion.

The grand dame completed her look with a navy belt, a gold cuff and Ferragamo silver heels.

Class and elegance personified.

Long may she continue to reign.

It took a long while for Victoria Beckham to shake off Posh Spice and become the respected fashion designer that she is today.

She blew us away with her well tailored, beautiful chic dresses which she wore and carried with a Birkin in every colour under the rainbow.

For Spring 2011 she presented a collection of bags.

The classic bags were added to Net-A-Porter last week. Some styles sold out instantly, but the online store quickly restocked their virtual shelves.

I much admit I’m surprised they are selling so well considering the price points which range from £1,700 to £8,950.

We know Victoria’s attention to detail is second to none. She wouldn’t put her name to any product she doesn’t believe in, which is why she is her own best brand ambassador.

Check out her collection of bag available on Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International.
