Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: March 2011

Sunday marked the first day of spring so that means you can pack your boots away and get ready for sun and sandals. I picked shoes from 3 designers that will create fresh fabulous styles for the season.

Tabitha Simmons shoes are a must-have for anyone’s spring footwear collection. Simmons heels were recently spotted on Teresa Palmer and Jennifer Aniston.

The Tabitha Simmons Drusilla antique rose wedge and the Tabitha Simmons Dyllis praline slingback feature barrel bows, wingtip detailing and long laces. Even with multiple embellishments, the Drusilla wedge still feels delicate and reminds me of an elaborate ballet slipper.

Wedges are a necessity for spring and both of these Yves Saint Laurent wedges were spotted on the Spring 2011 runway. The YSL Trybal suede wedge features three front knots and a knotted ankle cuff. Zoe Saldana was the first actress to debut these heels on the red carpet. Yves Saint Laurent also designed the beautiful gold t-strap YSL Totem leather wedge. I love the thick metallic angled edge on the back of the heel.

Even though Raphael Young follows traditional methods when creating shoes, like making each prototype from stitch to finish, there’s nothing conventional about his designs – they’re edgy and fierce. These eye-catching heels Raphael Young Habaki resin and suede peep-toes have been spotted on Ginnifer Goodwin. If it’s still too cold to make the switch to sandals, check out Young’s panther printed leather boot; it features an ombré acetate heel.

Rihanna was spotted headed out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Palisades, California on Saturday night.

The singer opted for the prefect transitional Fall to Spring look wearing a Celine Pre-Fall 2010 colour-block sweater dress with white Celine loafers.

RiRi has changed her hairstyle yet again.

This time she rocks sweeping bangs after making a guest appearance on Chelsea Lately with blunt bangs just last week.

Rihanna completed her look carrying a luxe buttery Prada City calf double top handle tote from the Spring 2011 collection.

Kristin Davis was pretty in pink as she took to the red carpet at the 25th Anniversary Genesis Awards in California this weekend.

The ‘Sex And The City’ actress wore a dress by her favourite designer, Oscar de la Renta.

Her pink crinkle chiffon Pre-Fall 2011 dress with velvet straps and bow detail was paired with Miu Miu criss cross patent sandals and a black Judith Leiber “Adrian” curved minaudière.

Whilst Kristin looks beautiful as always, there is something which is throwing me off this look.

It’s the bow.

The bow dominates the whole look plus the bow doesn’t appear to be as dark as the straps.

A bow-less version would’ve been preferred.
