Polka dots subtly found their way into a few looks this week.

Kate Winslet, Molly King, Katrina Bowden, Selita Ebanks and Mary-Kate Olsen wore polka dots in very different ways.

Kate Winslet kicked off the trend in a major way when she arrived at the “Mildred Pierce” New York Premiere, wearing a Stella McCartney Fall 2011 dress with a sheer polka dot panel. She looked amazing enough to find a spot on the BDOTW list.

Molly King was spotted – literally – wearing a Topshop polka dot dress with a scalloped collar which she accented with a black belt on a night out with friends. It’s the perfect summery look.

At the Rebecca Taylor event we saw two polka dot looks worn by Katrina Bowden and Selita Ebanks. Katrina’s appeared in the sheer dotted zip-up jacket paired with a floral jumpsuit, whilst Selita displayed hers in a polka-dotted skirt. Both looks were feminine and flirty showcasing the dots in a visible yet subtle way.

Mary-Kate Olsen attended the Metropolitan Opera Premiere of Le Comte Ory with her sister in New York on Thursday. Mary-Kate opted for a long and loose black polka dot dress with a grey sleeveless coat to complete this mix of polka dots worn by celebs this week.

I love the look of polka dots. It’s often associated with youth and conjures up a certain playful vibe, but as we saw on some celebs, there’s a way to wear polka dots in a feminine and sexy way. It’s a fun addition we can incorporate into our Spring 2011 closets.
