Taylor Tomasi Hill is the Style & Accessories Director for US Marie Claire and muse to Prabal Gurung.
I’ve spotted her many times during Fashion Week. She’s hard to miss with her red hair and perfect porcelain skin.
Street style bloggers love her. Like most New York editors she captures the spirit of real everyday dressing with high-end pieces.
She is the Queen of mixing thing ups; whether it’s prints, colours, masculine/feminine or edgy/girlie.
Her combos make her street style so interesting, especially when mixed with her variety of accessories from Masai chokers to a multitude of necklaces which she piles high.
She seems to favour hips labels like Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler, Givenchy, Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester and she often adds vintage pieces to her look.

A pop of yellow via her Balenciaga skirt is the main focus point of this look despite her heavy duty Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte metal pumps. The rest of her look includes a bright blue Celine clutch, fingerless leather gloves, a grey sweater and Dries van Noten shirt.
I love her green embroidered Balenciaga skirt from her second look. She keeps the look relaxed with a cow motif grey sweater. Like the first look she co-ordinates her look with grey tights and some stand-out footwear.
Taylor seems to carry her black fur stole more than she wears it, but it makes a great accessory. On this occasion her look includes a Givenchy turtleneck, fringed leather Isabel Marant skirt and Christian Louboutin boots.

Taylor has become known for piling on the accessories. A perfect example of this was when she added an oversized stack of cross necklaces and cuffs on both wrists for this 4th look. A leather Alexander Wang draped skirt, aubergine turtleneck sweater and Balenciaga peep-toes completes this clashing mixtures of textures.
My favourite look on this post is this 5th look. She combines an edgy leather harness perfectly with the soft silhouette of her black sweater and Ann Demeulemeester skirt. The look goes from simple to edgy and sexy with the harness.
With so many edgy, innovative looks on this page, Taylor proves she can so sweet and simple. Her labels of choice for this look include an Alexander Wang draped skirt and Dsquared2 cashmere sweater.
She accessorized with peachy Miu Miu bag, Norma Kamali sunglasses, Epice scarf and Rochas shoes.

Taylor loves leather and lace.
Christopher Kane and Celine seemed to be her favourite brands during Fashion Week.
Taylor has two very similar Christopher Kane Fall 2010 skirts. One is embroidered with colourful studded details whilst the other has colourful floral embroidered details.
Just to give the look even more of an edge, Taylor adds a leather bustier to the first look. The second is paired with a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011 leather jacket.
Taylor was often seen headed to shows in all four cities carrying a bright blue Celine pouch. This proved her with a perfect pop of colour to all her looks.
She also loved her Isabel Marant pointy pumps.
In the last look Taylor wears a lace top, DVF skirt and Celine oversized cardigan with leather pockets.

She seems slightly too contrived and some of the looks dont suite her body type at all!overall not bad but noone can compare to the AMAZING style of Joanna Hillman who you introduced me to FC xx
Joanna is my fave too.
i cant believe you posted about her! i adore her style! thanks!! love your blog so much!
Thank u xxx
I love TTH. That hair! That style! Those accessories! I think the Burberry Prorsum/ Christopher Kane/ Isabel Marant combo is my favourite.
TTH rocks….great Christopher Kane crochet & necklace combo on the street for SS12
Totally loving her style… LOVE LOVE LOVE…
This is my first time hearing about her. The fourth look with the Masai choker and Givenchy turtleneck is my favourite, followed by the eighth look with the leather bustier.
Off to Google Joanna Hillman now. Never heard of her before today either.

Here is the post I did on Joanna
Thanks.
Love Style Spotlight. Taylor and Joanna Hillman have a similar style with that edgy girlie mix. I love that leather harness, i have seen pics of her wearing it in different ways. Love Love the African influence of the necklaces piled high up her neck.
love this style spotlight section FC xx
She truly goes for it. Her style seems to be kind f pick random items and throw it all on, but she looks put together.
I think she looks fabulous. My husband however would think she looks wierd.
The looks that stand out for me are 3rd the Givenchy turtleneck one (really like it on her, esp. with her red center-parted hair ) and 5th – love the silhouette, she does look sexy and edgy (although if you look long enough, the harness starts resembling a gremlin-like creature with an evil hollow smile
Overall, don’t like her style much as some looks are very unflattering, don’t suit her at all.
lol at the harness comment
This section is fantastic! Love love love her style! Think my favourite look has to be the Alexander Wang-Balenciaga one. Stunning.
Joanna Hillman seems a bit more polished than Taylor Tomasi, but I love them both and feel like I can learn alot from them about combining different patterns and accessories and about taking risks with what you wear, trying to find your own unique blend of style. Love, love these posts!!
wow
THIS is style, what flair!!
i looked up Joanna Hillman’s link again and I think I prefer Taylor better
shes seems like Kate Lamphear but just one ounce of edginess swapped with prettiness
thnk u FC for introducing us to these personalities.,
helps one push one’s one personal style envelope and enjoy clothes
I LOVE her style! So much fearless fashion going on with her.. I’m especially completely and irrevocably in love with her Lanvin S/S bracelet with the bee detail on the shot of her Louis Vuitton invite..
I’m not there. I’m usually there. But this all seems so forced and contrived and just not genuine. Kind of a mess. I’m all for great looks and personal style and I guess that’s what this is called but it all looks wrong to me…if that’s even possible.
It seems that her style is mixmaster. I like it and wish that I could do the same.
The Givenchy turtleneck and black skirt is my favorite look.
And, I am dying for that Louis Vuitton invitation.
mixmaster…like it
I like some of it, but en masse it feels kind of forced. It’s like she’s not sure whether she wants to be edgy/sexy (bottom row) or quirky hipster (top row). And that Celine bag makes me laugh – it looks like my pencil case from primary school!
taylor’s style is so playful and creative. makes me want to be more adventurous in my day-to-day. thanks fc, this post is a real treat!
You are very welcome
Wow … she’s totally awesome! I’ve never heard of Taylor but I love all these hips labels she likes. Her looks are inspirational to me. I love seeing fashion editors. They’re the true trend setters and more intriguing to look at than most celebrities. I wish British Vogue had a more exciting editor-in-chief. London is one of the fashion capitals and Vogue should have someone more iconic and street-style-blog-worthy. I’m just saying … please don’t hate me or go ahead if you must
.
No I agree with you
The second and the fifth look are unwatchable, very ugly. No, I don’t like her style, too messy, kitsch… I only like her in photos n. 4 (but I dislike the shoed) and 6. Definitely not my style.
i love these features, FC, and i really appreciate the hard work that puts them there. the celebs you otherwise feature obviously use high-end designers in controlled settings, so it’s really fun to see these very individual takes on fashion. do you make out i’m a fan of the site?
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy this feature x
dito that, thx FC for all your work
you’re welcome
I’m already in love with her style! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 2nd to last look with the floral skirt and leather jacket. I’m seriously about to die over here!
I love her!! Such funky style!
Chick is flawless. Best dressed editor on the fashion circuit FACT.
Does anyone know where her black leather Masai choker is from or where to get one?
