Mia Wasikowska In Elie Saab Couture – “Jane Eyre” New York Premiere

Mia Wasikowska attended the New York premiere of her new movie, “Jane Eyre” last night.

The actress has worn a lot of black looks on the red carpet recently and that trend continued when she wore this Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture dress.

If you look hard enough this dress appears to be a shorter modified version of Look 39.

Her black a-line cocktail dress with floral appliqués and sequin embellishment was paired with black Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ peep-toes.

Mia never tends to do much with her hair, but I guess the fact that she was wearing Couture convinced her that it was time to do something different.

It’s a simple updo, but it works perfectly with her as does her natural make-up.

The dress is gorgeous but it is meh on Mia. She needs to give fashion personality. Her nude makeup washes out the dress. I need color.

I realize there is a black swan feathers trend going on…
    it’s a beautiful dress, i wish she wore a non-black shoe thought

I don’t love this on her–her waist is so small that it makes her hjps and shoulders look enormous. And I think her hair just looks too messy for this elaborate dress. Maybe it would have worked with earrings.

The dress is lovely and I can deal with the hairdo, but she’s far too pale. A little color in her cheeks or on her lips would have helped.

    Her face is too greasy.

I think it’s cute. A little colour on the cheeks and lips would have been nice.

Lovely dress, looks really good on her figure, shows off her tiny waist. The hair looks a bit messy . Not a fan of her natural makeup.

Beautiful dress…but the makeup is a tad too shiny.

    A nice look. Nothing more

I don’t like anything about this look.
I love the dress, but I think that it makes her look too thin.
Her make-up is a little shiny. And, her shoe choice was safe.

Her terrible, droopy poses kill everything she wears for me. If she’d ditch the ‘turtle poking its head from the shell’ posture and put on a teeny bit more makeup, this would look beautiful.

I like this – I think it’s the best she’s looked in a long while

      i agree!

        me too!

I like the dress but I don’t think it flatters Mia. It could be the angle of the photo, but the length shortens her legs and makes her look very long-waisted. If she chooses to wear all black, she needs to up the colour in other departments – accessories, shoes, makeup – something!!

Maybe my Mia bias is showing, but I think this is a BDOTW nominee.

If they attempted to copy the look , then they failed miserably. The dress is ok but cant be compared to the original look.

Oh the dress is so lovely, shame about the face! This time the natural make-up is not working at all!

I think she looks beautiful! Her understated makeup compliments her lovely features, that dress accents her petite waist and pale skin, and she looks very relaxed and fresh. I’m sick of gaudy, over-primped starlets; Mia is true to herself, and is more focused on her craft than on becoming a celebrity. I sincerely hope she never loses that.
