Elie Saab’s Fall 2011 collection was Parisian chic personified.
For those who say that Elie Saab only creates red carpet gowns, his Fall 2011 collection will prove them wrong.
The designer showcased many daytime pieces which included leather jackets, sheath dresses, pants paired with tunics, streamline coats and knits for the first time.
We saw plenty of slim silhouettes and cinched in waist via peplums and belts which accented dresses, skirt suits, jackets and gowns.
Demi Moore will love the many black pieces which were presented, plus we also saw nude, red, burgundy and stone with touches of florals.
Elie Saab’s celebrity clientèle will be happy to see the array of stunning gowns on display.
Of course I was in love with the embellished gowns, but any of his gowns would light up a red carpet.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long, but I’m banking on us seeing many looks during Cannes Film Festival.
Celebs have plenty of gowns choose from; halters, strapless, cap sleeves, bold shoulders, plunging necklines, peplum waists, central split, side split and long sleeved gowns.
Key accessories included Mary Jane-inspired strappy heels and clutches.
Front Row: Fan Bing Bing and Daisy Lowe

Perfect call on the celeb dresses! Love Love Ellie Saab!
I love Elie Saab. I just think he needs some good editing. He doesn’t need to send out 51 looks out there to get his message across. The man knows how to make a mean dress, but sometimes I feel he sends out a whole catalog, feels less special.
Loved the rich colours, the printed dresses were fantastic, the trousers (i cant believe we saw so many this time around) were well cut. And the dresses, he is truly masterful at it. Many will end-up on the red carpet for sure. Very simple chic, and refreshing. I loved his handbag section as well, many more variety and cool shapes.
A few less looks and some good editing and this collection would be awesome.
I’m liking how you put the names of celebrities on looks that would be to their style. Elie Saab will always have a place in my heart.
I’m absolutely in love with the floral dresses.
i totally agree. The prints and colours are gorgeous.
Gorgeous collection. I’m in love with the purple gown you pegged for Hilary Swank.
Even though I plan on dying in Elie Saab, I did not like this collection. It was dry and boring. There were only like one or two looks I liked, when I usually LOVE 40.
The message of this collection to me is that these are clothes for adult women–and that is a good thing, So much of what you see is dreck. These are beautiful, sophisticated, proportioned, wearable AND imaginative. I just hope the clothes companies that I can afford follow his lead and produce something that is chic and wearable for real grown women.
As always, words fail to express my admiration of Elie’s creations … Well, after all he’s the KING!
Love the reds, especially 16 and 18
Love, love, love Elie Saab. He is my favorite designer.
Oh you are so lucky to have been able to go there! What a gorgeous collection! I really want to see leighton meester in botht eh purple ‘hilary swank’ dress and especially the gorgeous nude/pale beige top and trouser combo that you featured above, or the cape ensemble you picked out. My heart beats just a little bit faster when I see Elie Saab’s collection.
mine too…100 miles a hour
WOW. Love most of this
he’s a true genius!
i hope we see these looks on the red carpet
Gorgeous collection, sexy, classy, I totally love it.
Love…love…love…all I want is everything in this collection!!!
classy but i dont really love it
dont know why… feel like ive seen all before.
You really nailed the three dresses you matched to celebs. They’d all look so great.
I hope at least one happens
I think Elie Saab is one of the best designers. They never go too over the top, so they make the perfect dresses for red carpets.
